The Europlan car leasing company is a long-term player in the car leasing market in Russia. 87.5% of Europlan's shares belong to the SFI group (as of August 2024).

2023: Profit growth by 24.4% to RUB 14.8 billion

The net profit of one of the largest leasing companies in Russia Europlan in 2023 increased by 24.4% compared to 2022 and reached 14.8 billion rubles. Such data in accordance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) were published at the end of February 2024.

From the materials of Europlan it also follows that the leasing portfolio (the total balance of net investments in leasing) at the end of 2023 increased by 40%, amounting to 230 billion rubles. This rise in the company was associated with a high level of repeated calls, as well as an increase in the number of new customers.

Europlan's profit reached 14.8 billion rubles

Capital in 2023 grew by a third - to 44.7 billion rubles. The average return on capital (ROAE) at the end of 2023 was 37.7%. Net interest income rose by 27.8%, to 17.7 billion rubles.

In 2023, the volume of new business, calculated as the total cost of vehicles and equipment leased to Russian entrepreneurs with VAT, turned out to be equal to 239 billion rubles, rising by 49% on an annualized basis. The volume of vehicles issued under leasing contracts increased by:

  • 82% in the segment of passenger cars;
  • 29% in the segment of light commercial machines;
  • 31% in the truck segment.


The financial report also notes that the share of electric vehicles at the end of 2023 increased and accounts for 2% of the total volume of passenger transport in the Europlan portfolio. The total number of leasing transactions concluded in 2023 increased by 49% on an annualized basis and exceeded 55 thousand.

The company emphasized that its portfolio includes all types of vehicles: commercial transport (43.6% at the end of 2023), cars (32.2%), self-propelled vehicles (15.3%), low-tonnage trucks (6.5%), buses (1.9%) (0.5% - other).[1]

History

2024: IPO conduct

On March 29, 2024, trading in Europlan shares began at the Moscow Exchange (ticker - LEAS). The IPO of the leasing company passed at a price of 875 rubles per paper, which corresponds to the upper limit of the previously named range of 835-875 rubles. As a result, Europlan's market capitalization at the time of the start of trading amounted to 105 billion rubles.

As part of the listing, the only shareholder of Europlan Investment Holding SFI(SFI) offered investors 15 million shares and raised 13.1 billion rubles. This amount includes 1.5 billion rubles for possible stabilization at secondary trading in the period up to 30 calendar days after the start of trading. As a result, the share of free-float securities will amount to 12.5% of the company's share capital.

In total, Europlan registered 150,000 investor applications. Aggregate demand has repeatedly exceeded supply at the upper end of the price range, the company said. On the eve of Kommersant, citing sources, wrote that the book of applications was re-signed four times. More than half of the investors participating in the Europlan IPO are individuals: their share was about 57% of the placement volume. The share of institutional investors is about 43%. among investors - individuals, shares were distributed as follows:

  • with the amount of applications per investor from 100 thousand rubles, the allocation was about 4.4%;
  • applications for the amount of up to 100 thousand rubles inclusive were satisfied so that the investor received at least five shares;
  • bids totalling five shares or less were satisfied in full.

2022: Opening of a representative office in Yakutsk

Leasing company Europlan has opened another representative office in Yakutsk, the capital of the Republic of Sakha. The company announced this on April 15, 2022.

Yakutsk is one of the largest Russia in the centers, mining including large deposits of diamonds, coal antimony, uranium and other valuable raw materials.

2021

Opening of a credit line by Rosbank for 2 billion rubles

PJSC Rosbank opened a credit line with a volume of 2 billion rubles for a period of 4 years. This was announced on July 15, 2021 by representatives of Europlan. The leasing company plans to use the financing received as part of the loan to purchase vehicles for its customers.

Cooperation between LoC Europlan and Rosbank began in 2019, then a credit line for 3 billion rubles was opened. The next loan was the next stage of the business partnership, and the total amount of the credit line increased to 5 billion rubles.

Opening an office in Kamchatka

On July 2, 2021, the Europlan car leasing company announced the opening of a representative office in the center of the Kamchatka Territory, the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Change in legal form

In June 2021, the Europlan leasing company changed its organizational and legal form from JSC to PJSC, follows from the data of the SPARK-Interfax analytical system.

2020

Opening an office in Miass

VTB Bank has opened a credit line with a volume of 25 billion rubles. with a tranche period of up to 3 years. The funds will be used to finance leasing transactions. This was announced on July 7, 2020 by Europlan.

Europlan has been cooperating with VTB Bank since 2013. When deciding on lending, the long-term partnership, the credit history of the company and its position in the auto leasing market in Russia were taken into account.

2019:77 offices in Russia

As of January 2017, Europlan's business area is the leasing of transport for small and medium-sized businesses through a network of branches and representative offices. Managers work in more than 260 dealerships in 70 regions of Russia.

The company works with such creditors as Sberbank, VTB, Gazprombank, Globex, Unicredit Bank, Raiffeisen Bank and others.

2015: Binbank announces acquisition of 100% stake in Europlan Group of Companies

On July 10, 2015, it became known that the shareholders of Binbank reached an agreement on the acquisition of a 100% stake in the Europlan group of companies. The main sellers are large private equity funds operating in Russia - Baring Vostok Private Equity Fund and Capital International Private Equity Fund IV, managed by Capital Group Private Markets, the credit institution said in a statement. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

It is expected that the transaction will be completed by the end of September 2015, after receiving the approval of the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

As of the end of 2016, BINBANK's shareholders acquired a slightly more than 75% stake in Europlan, opening up excellent prospects for the company in terms of stable attraction of liabilities, increasing market share, launching new products and growing the customer base. The rest of the shares have been circulating on the Moscow Exchange since 2015.

1999 - 2011

Europlan Group was founded in 1999 and became a pioneer in the Russian auto leasing market.

Since 2011, Europlan Bank has been part of the Europlan auto finance company.

During this period, Europlan is 60.68% owned by a group of investment funds managed by the independent investment company Baring Vostok Capital Partners, which specializes in investments in projects in the CIS and the Russian Federation.
