On March 28, 2012 Cisco Systems announced intention to purchase the ClearAccess company which is in a private property with the headquarters in Vancouver, the State of Washington, the USA. First of all, it is known for the software solution of an operator class based on TR-069 protocol for management of home broadband networks of providers of services. The transaction provides accession to business of Cisco of development team and the accompanying software products. The division of ClearAccess occupied with production of the hardware-software gateways Smart RG will be selected in SmartRG separate company.

According to Jamie Lerner (Jamie Lerner), the vice president and the general manager of division of Service Provider Applications as a part of Cisco Network Management Technology Group, acquisition will allow Cisco to propose in the long term to service providers new solutions within the Prime family for monetization of the provided services, increase in operational efficiency and growth of satisfaction of end consumers. They will allow to manage transmission band width, to exercise parental control, to carry out diagnostics, to collect statistics and then to analyze the acquired information. In process of growth of complexity of networks caused by distribution of video, increase in volumes of traffic, quantity and variety of the connected mobile devices, demand for such tools should remain at the high level.

Specialists of ClearAccess will be able to introduce in Cisco not only knowledge in the field of architecture of traditional software solutions, but also mobile in combination with experience of creation and promotion of cloud services. Upon termination of the transaction they will be a part of Cisco Network Management Technology Group headed by Jamie Lerner. Financial terms of transaction of the company do not disclose, it is supposed that all necessary formalities will manage to be completed in the fourth quarter 2012 financial year of Cisco. \
