Founders of ParStream decided to focus only on work with structured data that actually and opened an opportunity for rather simple parallelization. On the intention the database of the company is closer to the Google Dremel project, than to MapReduce or Hadoop which are not adapted to requests in real time.

According to forecasts, with transformation of Internet of Things (Internet of Things, IoT) into reality by 2020 50 billion devices and objects will be connected to Worldwide network. At such number of connections the valuable data will be generated with such speed most of which the companies are not even able to imagine. Considering it, Cisco announced in the fall of 2015 intention to purchase ParStream private company (Cologne, Germany). She specializes in creation of the databases allowing customers to analyze large volumes of data and to save them in any point of network practically in real time.

At information extraction from data in the IoT-environment speed is important, and ParStream developed the specialized database for Internet of Things. She allows customers to process and analyze in real time large volumes of data on network edge with the minimum infrastructure and operating costs. Thanks to the innovation shrinking algorithms and indexings the ParStream technology allows to accelerate access to large volumes of data, to quickly analyze and filter billions of records, providing to customers information honor in real time. As a result of ParStream acquisition the Cisco company will fill up the portfolio of solutions of processing and data analysis, having improved possibilities of the analysis on border where more and more data are now generated. The value of IT was always defined by a possibility of data analysis, and the analytics is in epicenter of implementable Cisco of strategy of the hyper distributed intellectual infrastructure.

For example, in the company which is engaged in renewable energy sources, the ParStream technology can be applied to monitoring of thousands of wind turbines at the same time, providing information which will give the chance to optimize each single turbine and to quickly consider such parameters of the environment as the direction of wind and temperature. Now instead of transferring data to the central server, the company will be able to store data on network edge, is closer to generators and sensors, keeping track of results even on very strongly distributed network. Access in real time to the data obtained from the connected equipment helps to reduce idle times the equipment thanks to preventive repair, to increase productivity and to analyze the nature of change of parameters of the environment.

The ParStream company took part in the program for startups of Cisco Entrepreneurs in Residence. The ParStream group will join division of Cisco on development of solutions of automation and data analysis which is included into the department dealing with issues of analytics and automation. It is going to close the deal until the end of February, 2016.
