The agreement signed by Wang Kexiang, General Director of Technical Company Huawei LLC, and Alexei Tabolkin, President of NGO Angstrom, provides for the development of mutually beneficial scientific and technical cooperation in the field of microelectronics, the creation of joint production of electronic equipment and telecommunication equipment intended, among other things, for building LTE networks, as well as the sale of finished products to telecom operators and corporate clients in the Russian Federation.
As part of the agreement, Angstrom will produce equipment under the Huawei brand on its own production base that meets modern world standards. In addition to contract production, as part of the exchange of technological potential, companies will jointly develop solutions in the field of telecommunications and communications.
At the first stage of the technological partnership, Angstrom will produce the following Huawei equipment:
- LTE base stations,
- DWDM equipment (OSN6800 and OSN1800),
- access equipment (MA5600T and МА5603Т),
- IP-switch (S2300 и S3300 + S5300),
- RRL equipment (RTN series),
- operator routers (NE40/NE80/NEx series).
The production, the design capacity of which is up to 10,000 products per year, will be commissioned in the IV quarter of 2011. As part of the project, Angstrom plans to invest about 400 million rubles in production in 2011 alone, and by 2013 it will open additional production facilities in a special economic zone in Zelenograd.
For its part, Huawei will provide unique developments and technologies, train Angstrom specialists and install a product quality control system. This will allow the company to expand its presence in the Russian market through new distribution opportunities for its products, fulfilling the licensing requirements of key customers, as well as making the logistics of its supplies more efficient. Huawei traditionally tries to make the maximum contribution to the development of the economy in the countries of presence, and also pays great attention to the high-quality localization of its solutions.
Wang Kexiang, General Director of Technical Company Huawei LLC, noted: "Russia is a priority region for Huawei. A joint project with Angstrom will launch the largest production of Huawei solutions in the Russian Federation. This will allow the company to expand its range through localization of solutions, gain new distribution opportunities and strengthen its competitive advantage in the Russian market. "
