Banzai Cloud — the Hungarian developer of the platform built on the Kubernetes technology intended for development, implementation and scaling of cloud applicaions. The company is founded in 2017.

History

2020: Cisco purchased Banzai Cloud

On November 16, 2020 Cisco announced acquisition of Banzai Cloud at the price which the companies did not begin to disclose. It is going to close the transaction in the second quarter of 2021 financial year.

The startup together with employees and other assets will join division of Cisco Emerging Technologies and Incubation and will be engaged in development of projects in such areas as cloud networks, security and peripheral calculations for the modern distributed applications there.

Liz Centoni, the senior vice president and the general manager of division of Cisco which is engaged in development cloud computing and IoT-systems, commenting on the transaction noted that Banzai Cloud will accelerate efforts of the company on creation of cloud computing and also will add acquisition of Portshift company which it was announced in November, 2020 earlier.

This command showed high qualification at complete development of complex cloud applicaions, to their implementation, start and safety. They created and deployed software tools which solve crucial problems of the real world. They are active participants of community of software developers open source as sponsors and those who make a contribution and give support to some Open Source projects, - Chentoni noted.

According to the top manager of Long View Systems company (the partner of Cisco) Kent McDonald, purchase of Banzai Cloud will help Cisco to strengthen positions in the field of cloud networks and security.

According to Crunchbase, Banzai Cloud to the middle of November, 2020 received from investors in total $2.5 million^[1]
