History
2018: Cisco purchased July Systems
On June 19, 2018 the Cisco corporation announced July Systems company takeover. The transaction is supposed to be closed in the first quarter 2019 financial year.
The amount and other details of purchase are not disclosed. It is noted only that after completion of the transaction the July Systems command will be a part of division of Cisco Enterprise Networking Group which is headed by the senior vice president and the general manager of corporation Scott Harrell.
The platform developed by July Systems traces data on Wi-Fi-connection of mobile devices in large trade spaces, such as airports, hotels and shopping centers. The analysis of this information allows owners of institutions to judge behavior of visitors. Access to service is provided via the cloud applicaion and is provided on a paid subscription, transfers the CRN edition.
Cisco noted that for several years attracted July Systems in quality OEM парнера within the Cisco Connected Mobile Experiences (CMX) platform intended for position fix and the analysis of behavior of users of Wi-fi in real time.
Entry of a startup into the structure of corporation will contribute to the further development of locational services Cisco. Continuing the transformation from the producer of network equipment in software supplier and services, Cisco is going to use developments of July Systems for creation of the unified solution for the partners and clients using which they will be able to offer the various services based on understanding of location.[1]
