2021: Accenture purchased Real Protect

On January 11, 2021 Accenture announced acquisition of the Brazilian company Real Protect which specializes in providing the managed solutions in the field of cyber security. Financial terms of transaction are not disclosed.

The Real Protect company founded in 2005 has the headquarters to Rio de Janeiro and office in São Paulo. With assistance of two operational centers the company provides custom and complete solutions for clients across all Brazil. Real Protect is engaged in development of tools for monitoring, detection and response to threats, after the transaction they will add similar offers of Accenture. Real Protect was the first in Latin America company which received the international unified standard of certification from MSP Alliance.

According to the research Accenture, Brazil continues to remain a hot spot for cyber crime that, by our estimates, can cost to the companies more than $100 billion the lost revenue by 2023, - the head of Accenture Security Kelly Bissel told. - Acquisition of Real Protect is natural addition to our existing business for management of security services which proposes the specialized industry solutions helping clients to expect, detect quickly cyberthreats and to react to them in real time. We welcome Real Protect in Accenture and are glad to what we can reach together to help the organizations to become steadier.

About 90 specialists of Real Protect in cyber security who service different clients in the field of health care, power, the oil and gas industry and financial services will join the global Accenture Security group numbering nearly 7000 specialists. The CEO of Real Protect Daniel Lemos will direct business of Accenture in the field of managed services for security in Latin America.^[1]
