ImpulseVR is the Russian network of VR movie theaters. Key feature of the project — the unique VR content integrating traditional adventure movies with an interesting plot and the famous actors and VR games with deep immersion and interactivity.

2018: Launching

In Russia the first pop-up network of movie theaters is started virtual reality ImpulseVR. It is expected that the first 6 movie theaters with 72 personal halls will earn in To Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities of the country in December, 2018 and the beginning of 2019, reported TAdviser on December 20, 2018 century Sberbank. Works on creation of network jointly carry out operator of the Thanks from Sberbank program and VR- studio Impulse Machine.

The first VR movie theater already opened in Moscow — in Mars Contemporary art center. At the same time, negotiations on strategic partnership with network of shopping centers "MEGA" are conducted. According to representatives of Sberbank, ImpulseVR VR movie theaters can be placed in MEGA shopping Center not only in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but also in other cities of presence of network.

Each ImpulseVR movie theater is equipped with individual halls which number can vary from 9 to 20. Halls, in turn, are equipped with the rotating chairs and modern VR helmets with earphones and computers which process computer graphics in real time. The viewer will be able to interact with virtual space by means of special controllers in hands.

As explained TAdviser in Sberbank, unlike other similar projects which were started in Russia earlier, for ImpulseVR exclusive VR content will be created by Impulse Machine studio. At the same time the viewer will be able personally to influence development of a plot of the first interactive VR movie, making these or those decisions in the course of viewing.

Unlike the VR games which are actively developing in the market of virtual reality and directed mainly to teenage audience we would like to show a different approach to creation of VR content. We are focused on demonstrations of the self-produced interactive VR movies focused on more adult audience — Alexander Panov, the ImpulseVR project manager emphasized.

Start of network of VR movie theaters continues our strategy of development for the direction of impressions and entertainments around the program. We expect that virtual reality will become a trend of the next years, and we want that the first impressions of full-fledged VR cinema where the viewer influences the events in the movie were available to participants of "Thanks from Sberbank". We calculate that for the first year of work VR movie theaters will be visited by more than 130 thousand people — Andrey Pisarev, the CEO of "Thanks from Sberbank" commented on a project startup.
