Investment from the venture capital fund Softline and Moscow Seed Fund in the SaaS platform for managing IT assets ITMan
In May 2013 , Softline Venture Fund announced a joint investment with Moscow Seed Fund in a SaaS platform for accounting, supervision and management of ITMan IT assets for small and medium-sized businesses. The solution is an add-on to Microsoft System Center for enterprise IT infrastructure management .
The platform allows you to obtain and track information about the amount of licensed and unlicensed software detected in the company, information about the name, manufacturer, number, category and type of licensing and other information about installed software products.
The management functions of the solution include the ability to import data from System Center Configuration Manager 2007/2012, collect data using an agent from computers not connected to the local network, add and remove assets from accounting, create and edit license data, create a hierarchical structure of the company and assign space in it to assets, etc.
In addition, the solution also allows you to take into account software usage times, deliver and install applications on a PC, maintain hardware records, record and manage service requests, and perform remote administration.
Softline explained to TAdviser that the service is being developed by a company of the same name - ITMan. The idea arose within Softline and was then separated into a separate startup. The company itself is based in Moscow, and the developers are distributed by region, the company says.
The volume of joint investments in the platform with the Moscow Seed Fund amounted to $400 thousand, told TAdviser in Softline. The project is expected to reach a payback within a year and a half. Product development is now in the prototype stage, and the beta version is scheduled to launch this summer.
ITMan believes that, despite the existence of such solutions in the West, the Russian niche is still free. Among Western competitors, the solutions in Softline are the Logmein and Licensedashboard projects.
