Rosatom's smart technologies halved Zheleznovodsk's waste collection costs
Monitoring the accumulation and export of MSW is one of the elements of the Smart City system, which the Zheleznovodsk administration, together with Rosatom, introduced in 2020. Sensors were installed inside city garbage cans, administration employees in the situation center can track the filling of tanks and regulate the schedule and routes of garbage trucks.
As noted, the administration of the resort city refused to pay for the estimated rates of accumulation of municipal waste and from 2021 it will pay for the actual, actually exported volumes of MSW. Expenses for two months of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020 were halved. Read more here.

According to him, the implementation of the project will require 1.2 billion rubles. The city plans to attract them exclusively from extrabudgetary funds, inviting a private investor. The results of the corresponding competition, at which such an investor will be selected, will be summed up in August 2018.

Four rented houses are already working within the framework of a smart city, for example, they monitor the operation of elevators, housing and communal services and security systems.
