The transactions took place on September 4, 2020 - after the Detsky Mir SPO, as a result of which AFK Sistema Vladimir Yevtushenkov and the Russian-Chinese Investment Fund (RCIF) left the retailer's capital, and its free float increased to 100%. Vladimir Yevtushenkov was pleased with the deal.

"Detsky Mir" before the IPO was estimated at 50-118 billion rubles
The largest Russian chain of stores for children "Detsky Mir" in preparation for the IPO on the Moscow Exchange was estimated at 50-118 billion rubles. ($0.844-2 billion), reports Reuters at the beginning of the year, citing informed sources.
It is clarified that Sberbank CIB valued the company at 98-118 billion rubles, and Credit Suisse - at 50-108 billion rubles.
As of December 31, 2016, the largest stakes are in AFK Sistema (72.57%) and the Russian-Chinese Investment Fund (RCIF, 23.1%). 1.79% of the shares belong to the general director of Detsky Mir Vladimir Chirakhov, 1.976% to managers and members of the board of directors of the company from among the top managers of AFK Sistema. All of them are selling shareholders. About 30% of the shares of Detsky Mir will be put up for sale. According to the results of the IPO, AFK Sistema will remain the owner of the controlling stake.
The organizers of the placement are Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs International and Morgan Stanley, the bookrunners are Sberbank CIB and UBS Investment Bank. At the same time, the estimates of the issuer's capitalization (especially their lower limits) lie in a very wide range. According to Sberbank CIB analysts, Detsky Mir costs from 98 to 118 billion rubles, while Credit Suisse gives an estimate of 50-108 billion rubles. Morgan Stanley and UBS do not provide capitalization estimates in their reports.
Today, the shares of Detsky Mir look like an attractive asset. In recent years, the company has managed to significantly improve its performance, and in many respects this is the merit of CEO Vladimir Chirakhov, who took this post in 2012. Under his leadership, first of all, the management structure was optimized and a course was taken to reduce costs. Gradually it was possible to deal with all the accumulated problems - in relations with suppliers, pricing, [11]
As a result, starting in 2013, Detsky Mir's revenue grew by 30-36% per year, and gross profit - by 33-39% per year. The number of stores increased from 252 in 2013 to 525 in early 2017. For the nine months of 2016, the company's revenue amounted to 54.2 billion rubles (an increase of 41% year-on-year), net profit - 1.7 billion rubles (an increase of 2.6 times). According to preliminary estimates, for the whole of 2016, management expects revenue in the range of 79.2-79.8 billion rubles (an increase of 30% year-on-year). Detsky Mir Group of Companies in 2015 occupied 32% of the specialized retail market for children's goods in Russia and 13% of the market for children's goods in general (including hyper- and supermarkets). The closest competitor - the Korablik network - occupies a share 3 times less.
The immediate plans of Detsky Mir as the main player in the market for goods for children look promising. The Russian market as a whole is close to saturation. Therefore, first of all, Detsky Mir's plans imply further growth due to the ongoing market consolidation against the background of a consistent reduction in the share of unorganized trade, which is still high.
In addition, in 2017, the revenue of regional stores of the chain will grow faster than in the Moscow region - 26% versus 19% (according to preliminary calculations by Credit Suisse). On the one hand, this is explained by the gradual saturation of the capital's market and the development of Internet sales, and on the other hand, by the plans of Detsky Mir to develop the regional direction at an accelerated pace. For example, by 2020, the retailer plans to open 250 new stores, of which 175 are in the regions.
In general, the company's plans for the near future look realistic and attractive, and the likelihood of their successful implementation is currently not in doubt.
The initial placement of shares of Detsky Mir can be successful due to the correct choice of the moment of the transaction. The main reason is the positive dynamics of the Russian stock market, which over the past two years has been growing by an average of 25% per year. Support is also provided by positive forecasts for oil prices and, as a result, at the ruble exchange rate . It will also not forget that in the context of a recession of the domestic economy, the market for goods for children remains one of the few sectors that continue to grow. In addition, the company shows good reporting performance before the IPO. The company is plus an active development program, 98% brand recognition and a high level of customer loyalty, as well as the presence of investors from China who can attract capital from Asian financial markets for development.
