2022: Launch of the sale of restored smartphones

On April 18, 2022, MegaFon announced the expansion of its presence in the refurbished equipment segment. To the trade-in program, which allows you to get a discount on a new gadget in exchange for an old one, the company launches the sale of restored smartphones. Also in the near future, an additional service will appear in the operator's salons - a direct purchase of equipment from customers.

The sale of restored smartphones is open in MegaFon's online store. All devices are guaranteed, and their cost is up to 60% lower than the new ones. Restored smartphones undergo a full pre-sale service - diagnostics, testing and, if necessary, replacement of components.

At the first stage, residents of Moscow and the region can use the service. As of April 2022, MegaFon customers are available more than 200 models of restored smartphones brands Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Honor, Huawei, OnePlus and Realme. As in the case of buying a new phone, the consumer can always return the device under warranty or count on a replacement.

The model for selling restored smartphones has proven itself in many countries of the world - in the past few years, online trading giants and manufacturers have entered this niche.

We see great growth potential in the segment of restored digital technology. In 2022, the demand for smartphones was redistributed into the average price segment, while in 2021 buyers more actively purchased devices worth over 50 thousand rubles. This sales format will allow us to satisfy the demand of the category of customers that wants to use the most current gadgets, but at the same time is not ready to overpay, "said David Borzilov, MegaFon's sales director.

The appearance of such smartphones in large retail networks will make the secondary gadget market transparent to the buyer, "said Alexander Yelchin, CEO of Smart Bazar.

The service guarantees security, saves time and money to promote an advertising offer in online services. To hand over a smartphone, the client needs to have only a passport and the device itself.

2019: Appointment of Andrei Levykin as CEO of MegaFon Retail JSC

On September 9, 2019, MegaFon PJSC announced the appointment of Andrei Levykin as CEO of MegaFon Retail. In this post, he replaced Kirill Shibanov. More details here.

2014: Revenue - 30 billion rubles

The company's revenue amounted to 30 billion rubles, an increase of 18% compared to 2013. The total number of communication salons exceeded 2 thousand, which is 8% more than a year earlier.

The main task for MegaFon's own retail network in 2014 was a significant increase in sales of smartphones and tablets, as such devices provide an increase in revenues from the transfer of operator data. In 2014, smartphone sales grew by 35%, and tablets - by 370%. The largest increase is demonstrated by sales of budget smartphones and tablets, and primarily equipment under the brand name MegaFon. In particular, MegaFon tablets in 2014 took a leading position in the Russian market in tablet sales. In particular, the MegaFon Login 3 tablet took second place in the sales rating throughout the country.

The number of LTE devices sold in 2014 increased by 3 times compared to 2013. Today, 30% of its own retail range is supported by LTE. Buyers deliberately choose such devices, because they see the high-speed advantages of the 4G + network from MegaFon, which operates in 72 regions of the country.
