2020: Google purchased AppSheet
On January 14, 2020 Google announced AppSheet purchase. The financial component of the transaction of the company did not begin to be opened.
The vice president for development of the platform for business applications in Google Cloud Amit Zavery wrote in the blog that AppSheet is bought to give to any company an opportunity to create mobile applications, even that which has no development team.
The competitive business environment requires development of new applications with greater speed and efficiency, but many companies lack resources for the solution of these problems, he noted.
Capability of AppSheet to work with different scenarios — from CRM before field inspections and the personalized reports — in combination with deep experience of Google Cloud in the key vertical markets will allow to provide further digital transformation in such industries as financial services, production, retail, health care, communication, media and entertainments — Zaveri said. |
By means of AppSheet it is possible to create various simple applications: programs for creation of daily reports on construction, trackings of maintenance of the equipment, arrangement of tasks for doctors before transactions, etc.
The AppSheet platform was integrated with Google services, including Sheets and Forms earlier and also with other products, including AWS DynamoDB, Box, Salesforce and Microsoft Office 365. In 2019 developers used AppSheet for creation more than 490 thousand new mobile and desktop applications.[1]
