In 2011 Lenovo announced the strategy directed to release of the PC supplied with means of support of cloud computing and presented the solution Secure Cloud Access (SLA) in which for improvement of interaction of the PC with clouds the webNetworks platform of Stoneware company serves. By means of SLA users can address the web or local Windows applications from any device via the browser. SLA provides for all devices uniform user Windows interface, but at the same time performs for each device tuning of security aids and productivities, optimizing memory, graphics and capacity.

Probably, this experience was successful, Lenovo decided to purchase Stoneware company in 2012 to expand scope of its products out of borders of educational and state sectors to the area of consumer cloud solutions. So, according to the Bloomberg agency, Lenovo is going to construct based on Stoneware technologies a public cloud for consumers and to suggest to store services which will compete with the iCloud service of Apple company allowing users in an application cloud, musical and video files, addressing them via the Internet or wireless networks.
