2023: Amazon bought One Medical for $3.9 billion

On February 22, 2023, Amazon announced it was closing a deal to buy One Medical. This acquisition cost the American Internet giant $3.9 billion.

The takeover agreement for One Medical was concluded in the summer of 2022. The purchase is expected to help Amazon strengthen its position in the healthcare market as well as offer patients better healthcare services. The deal gives Amazon access to more than 200 One Medical inpatient medical facilities in 26 markets. The number of customers of this company is approximately 815 thousand.

Amazon bought One Medical

The purchase was the first major deal announced since CEO Andy Jassy replaced company founder Jeff Bezos in July 2021. Jussie said health care is seen as one of the main areas of business expansion.

One Medical, in particular, specializes in primary health care. Patients can use the One Medical app to interact with medical staff. Virtual on-demand care services such as 24-hour video chats and easy messaging are supported. Home health care is provided in conjunction with health care professionals who help build a complete picture of a person's health - from preventive and emergency care to chronic diseases and mental health problems.

Overall, One Medical services will enable patients to receive better medical care while saving time. It is possible to visit the office or virtual consultation directly on the day of the appeal or the next day. In addition, the geography of providing a service for the care of the elderly is expanding.[1]
