Our investment in this striking structure, created by Renzo Piano, reflects our continued confidence that the office is a place for cooperation and communication, "said Ronan Harris, vice president and managing director of Google in the UK and Ireland.

Harris added that Google plans to refurbish the room over the next few years, create conference rooms, as well as organize collaboration space, team blocks and outdoor jobs.

The British division of the company employs 6,400 employees, Google intends to create enough office space in the UK to expand the staff to 10,000. Google's new headquarters in the UK, which is located on the site behind Kings Cross railway station, is still under construction. The 11-story project was designed by the prestigious Heatherwick Studios and Bjarke Ingels Group. According to the plans, the office space will accommodate a 25-meter pool, a 200-meter rooftop treadmill and a large sports hall overlooking London. When the project is completed, up to 4,000 Google employees will be able to accommodate the office space.

However, development is several years behind schedule. Google initially hoped to be in the building by 2016, but a series of failures postponed the entry date by several years. According to CNBC, Google plans to complete this project by 2023/2024.

Other Google offices in the Kings Cross area are at different stages of completion. In the end, Google expects to receive about 7,000 employees to work in the area.[1]
