2018: Entry into the structure of Google

On November 13, 2018 within the continuing reorganization of efforts in the area health care Google announced accession to herself of the medical DeepMind Health project which was included into the research center London earlier AI- the company DeepMind entering on an equal basis with Google into holding Alphabet.

Founders of DeepMind consider the transaction "important milestone" for the company which could help widespread introduction of the medical Streams application. This application – the AI assistant for nurses and doctors - was developed for the British National medical authorities (NHS) and, according to developers, combines the best algorithms with the intuitive interface.

Representatives of DeepMind claim that the transaction with Google will not prevent the company to work on the project for a health care system of Britain. The development team of Streams will remain in London and will continue cooperation with NHS over a number of ambitious research projects, such as use of AI for detection of diseases of eyes at routine scanning.

However the transaction can bring up other matters of argument, for example, a problem of confidentiality of data. In 2017 the British court already recognized partnership of DeepMind with NHS illegal as individuals were not properly informed on how their personal medical data will be used. Now many are frightened by perspective of the fact that Google will get access to this information.

Unlike Google, DeepMind positions itself as the company which invests in the future and does not wait for immediate profit. Many are afraid that Google will try to receive the maximum return from acquisition and will want to commercialize DeepMind work. According to CNBC TV channel, the independent supervisory board of DeepMind created for observation of a company performance in the field of health care will be closed soon after the transaction with Google.^[1]
