2024: Fifty employees fined after mass brawl in Moscow

On February 20, 2024, the Main Directorate MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS Russia for the city To Moscow reported that more than 50 Yandex delivery employees had been issued administrative protocols on violation of migration laws. This was the result of a check initiated on the fact of a mass brawl that took place on January 31, 2024 on Guards Street in the Russian capital.

After this conflict, seven of its participants were detained by police in hot pursuit and brought to justice under Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Petty hooliganism." At the same time, the investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Mozhaisk district of Moscow opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Hooliganism."

In the course of further operational-search measures, a number of offenses committed by Yandex delivery officers who work in a warehouse on Ryabinova Street were revealed. It turned out that the initial conflict occurred between domestic workers related to loading operations. A total of 74 foreign nationals have been tested. The police identified two suspects aged 21 and 26 who were the instigators of the fight. In relation to them, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention.

It is said that administrative materials have been drawn up against 10 persons under Part 3 of Article 18.8 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Violation by a foreign citizen or stateless person of the rules of entry into the Russian Federation or the regime of stay (residence) in the Russian Federation." Two more people were fined under part 3.1 of article 18.8 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (deviation from leaving the Russian Federation), one man - under part 5 of article 18.8 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (repeated commission of an administrative offense under part 3 of article 18.8 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation). For 37 people, administrative materials were drawn up under Part 2 of Article 18.10 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Illegal employment by a foreign citizen or stateless person in the Russian Federation."^[1]

Now senders and recipients of parcels through Yandex.Delivery can choose a convenient way for them to communicate with the courier: by phone or in a chat in Yandex Go. Launching a chat will make it easier for couriers and users to communicate. According to a study of the service, more than 70% of users do not answer calls from unfamiliar numbers, and almost a quarter simply do not like to communicate on the phone. Yandex.Delivery has expanded the geography of the service for sending parcels to other cities using.
