History

2021: Microsoft bought TakeLessons

On September 10, 2021, Microsoft announced the acquisition of TakeLessons. The financial terms of the transaction are not disclosed.

According to CNBC, this purchase shows that Microsoft still seeks to provide people with the opportunity to find educational content and not only in the business sector. More than 6% of Microsoft's revenue comes from LinkedIn, and this professional network platform receives part of its revenue from a premium subscription, which includes access to LinkedIn Learning with which subscribers can take various online courses.

Microsoft acquired TakeLessons

LinkedIn differs from TakeLessons in that it offers real-time training for private classes with instructors and group classes in real-time. While LinkedIn Learning specializes in content in leadership, sales, and other business topics, the Platform TakeLessons offers courses in many consumer-oriented subjects, including music, languages, and art.
