History
2021: IBM bought Envizi
In early January 2022, IBM acquired Envizi. The financial terms of the transaction are not disclosed.
Envizi software allows partners and customers to focus on environmental performance management, IBM notes. According to the buyer, the transaction is consistent with products and services such as IBM Maximo asset management solutions, IBM Sterling supply chain solutions and IBM Environmental Intelligence Suite.
IBM uses Envizi software to track the company's own goals for renewable electricity purchases and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
IBM AI Applications General Manager Karim Yusuf noted:
To make real progress toward sustainable development, companies need the ability to transform data into predictive ideas that help them make smarter and more effective decisions every day. Envizi software provides companies with a single source of reliable data to analyze and understand emissions information across the full range of their business operations and significantly accelerates IBM's growing arsenal of artificial intelligence technologies, helping enterprises create more sustainable operations and supply chains. |
According to Envizi, the company's software automates the collection and consolidation of more than 500 types of data and supports major sustainability reporting systems. This allows companies to analyze, manage environmental goals, identify opportunities for improving efficiency and assess the risks of sustainable development.[1]
