2020: Apple purchased Camerai

At the end of August, 2020 it became known of sale of Camerai of the company Apple for "several tens of millions dollars". The producer iPhone also iPad confirmed the transaction, but refrained from details.

According to Calcalist, Apple included a startup the command on development [[Computer vision (machine vision) computer vision]]. Camerai technologies became a part of the camera of Apple and added to devices of the company new features for augmented reality.

The Israeli startup of Camerai was founded in 2014 and was engaged in technologies of augmented reality and computer vision. It is reported that at the time of acquisition in the company headquarters in Tel Aviv 13 people worked, and most of them joined a command of Apple in Herzliya. At the end of 2018 Camerai became interested several large companies, including Samsung Electronics and Alibaba Group, however Apple managed to sign the contract.

Apple purchased the developer of technologies of augmented reality

The Camerai technology allows applications to create easily augmented reality and graphics for image processing with limited technical data. For example, these technologies allow applications to find a certain object on the image and to outline it in general. Camerai also created a set for software development which allowed developers to use the AR tools for editing images by more difficult methods.

Since 2018 Apple entered the numerous improvements connected with augmented reality and computer vision to the devices and already it is impossible to tell what functions provided technologies of a startup. Besides, Apple works on new wearable devices which can integrate virtual environment and the mixed reality to which Camerai developers could also lay a hand.^[1]
