2021: IBM bought myInvenio
In mid-April 2021 IBM , acquired Italian the developer ON myInvenio. The myInvenio software enables partners to easily manage business processes in sales, purchasing, manufacturing, accounting, and other activities that can be automated. Financial the terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The deal will complement IBM's growing portfolio of automation solutions. The myInvenio software allows partners to perform a kind of "health check," demonstrating to customers which business processes can be automated to maximize cost savings.
It is known that the deal was concluded just five months after myInvenio and IBM announced an "international strategic business partnership" to integrate myInvenio technologies and tasks in IBM Cloud Park to automate the platform by December 2020.
After the completion of the acquisition, which is expected at the end of the second quarter of 2021, the myInvenio software will be integrated into the IBM Automation service portfolio, which includes Cloud Pak hybrid cloud software for business automation. The deal will undoubtedly give impetus to the development of Cloud Pak for Automation, which IBM management hoped for.
Earlier, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna said that IBM will invest $1 billion in the "rapid expansion" of its partners' ecosystem, focusing on automation, hybrid cloud technologies and artificial intelligence.
Some partners have already praised the results of IBM automation. Director of Revenue at IBM's Boston partner, Ironside, noted that combined and integrated automation technologies such as IBM Cloud Pak for Data, as well as an overall reduction in start-up costs, have made business automation tools "available to medium and even small businesses."[1]
