Silk Labs is the American startup which is engaged in development of artificial intelligence for devices which work in confidentiality terms of data. On the official site it is reported that the company works on "new generation intellectual video and audiodevices for products with network connection" which have "the most modern potential of image understanding and sounds". The startup was based by Andreas Gal, Chris Jones and Michael Vines. The first of them held a position of the technical director of Mozilla earlier.

2018: Apple purchased Silk Labs
In November, 2018 it became known of sale of Silk Labs of Apple corporation. The cost of the transaction is unknown.
That Silk Labs is purchased by Apple company, reported the The Information edition. Apple confirmed acquisition, but refrained from informative comments and was limited only to the sample statement:
Apple buys the small technology companies from time to time, and we do not discuss our purposes or plans. |
How, Apple is going to use developments of Silk Labs, is not reported. The Information writes that both companies propagandize development of artificial intelligence in which in the forefront there is a privacy.
Silk Labs had a device which the company called "a digital brain" for household appliances. This gadget was used for improvement of interaction of people with the equipment in the house and its adaptation to needs of users in use. The method of data processing which was made directly on the device, but not in a cloud was key feature of a product.
Silk Labs says that technologies of the company can find application in such areas as house security, data analysis in retail, access control, monitoring of parking spaces and video surveillance in buildings.[1]
