2021: IBM purchased Taos Mountain
In the middle of January, 2021 the IBM corporation purchased service provider in Taos Mountain information technology field. The Californian company Taos is considered one of the largest consulting companies in the field of cloud computing in North America which helps large enterprises to transfer data processing centers, to develop platforms and to create a hybrid cloud.
The enterprises even more often transfer the IT workloads to a public cloud, especially against the background of COVID-19 pandemic. Analysts claim that in the future most the enterprises, most likely, will accept the strategy of a hybrid cloud when their data and applications are both in local, and in public cloud environments.
The CEO of IBM Arvind Krishna tried to accelerate growth of the company, paying more attention to hybrid cloud computing. It is expected that thousands of the companies will pass into a cloud in the next years, and most of them will use several suppliers of cloud services. IBM stakes on the help to clients in implementation of hybrid and multicloud solutions for conversion of their business. However this sector is complete of competitors.
IBM is not included into the list of leading companies of this sector, - the analyst of Gartner Craig Lowery notes. - Thanks to acquisitions of IBM, apparently, fills spaces in the opportunities and begins to take roots in this market. |
The CEO of Taos Hamilton Yu (Hamilton Yu) considers that orientation of his company to upgrade of multicloud platforms and management of hybrid cloud environments "is naturally combined" with the purposes of IBM Global Business Services.
