2016: Sale of IBM

On February 29, 2016 IBM announced Resilient Systems purchase therefore the famous specialist in cryptography and a computer security Bruce Schneier will join the American IT giant.

Resilient Systems is going to close the transaction on sale during 2016. At first regulating authorities should approve it. IBM preferred not to open financial and other conditions of purchase of Resilient.

IBM notes that after all formalities concerning merger of Resilient are executed, the company will be able to offer the clients the integrated complex platform, the first in the market, integrating means of analytics, computer technical expertize, technologies of management of vulnerabilities and responses to incidents.

Together with developments of the absorbed IBM company receives all its staff which by the end of February, 2016 totals about 100 people. Among them — the head of Resilient John Bruce (John Bruce; before was the vice president of Symantec) and the technical director Bruce Schneier. The last is known as the cryptographer, the blogger and the author of a set of books on a computer security.

Together with the announcement of acquisition of Resilient the IBM company provided a set of X-Force Incident Response Services through which corporate clients can plan protection against cyber attacks, manage cybersecurity means and quickly react to hacker threats. A key component of these solutions is the Resilient platform which IBM is also going to implement within all product portfolio of IBM Security.^[1]
