Partner Program
2024
Launch of Oil and Gas Competence Center
VK Tech is launching the Oil and Gas Competence Center. The company announced this on October 17, 2024.
The center's team will create a universal platform that will present a full range of digital solutions for managing production and sales processes in. oil and gas industries Its infrastructure and platform level will be formed on the basis of VK Tech's own infrastructure. The team of the Competence Center will be headed by Alexander Trusov, who previously held the position of head of the Center for Oil and Gas Technologies in. Innopolis University
The platform will bring together advanced solutions from software and hardware manufacturers, including the development of leading oil and gas companies and niche players specializing in creating narrow-profile business applications. A comprehensive industry solution will provide a number of advantages such as guaranteed uniformity of the technologies used and simplified integration of different systems into the IT landscape of the enterprise. The platform will be based on a private cloud, taking into account information security requirements. It will also ensure the consistency, unity and preservation of data according to the principles of the national project "Data Economics."
To develop such a strategically important industry as oil and gas, investments, competencies, infrastructure and engineering culture are needed. Industrial companies need a technology partner who will support the basic level, help develop competencies and development processes. The most effective in this role is the cloud PaaS and IaaS provider, ready to work with the internal loop. This VK Tech competence center will allow you to combine the best solutions available on the market and ensure stable, trouble-free and efficient operation of IT systems in the Russian oil and gas industry, "said Pavel Gontarev, Managing Director of VK Tech. |
VK Tech has switched to a partner model of work
Since the launch of the unified partner program VK Tech in 2023, about 120 companies have joined it, and now VK Tech implements more than 70% of its projects with the participation of partners. Representatives of VK Tech told about this on October 10, 2024 at a press event. In the partner ecosystem, almost 1,000 specialists are now VK Tech certified.
Despite the fact that VK Tech is a major developer of software and cloud services, it will not be able to cover all needs on its own. Moreover, the company sets itself an ambitious task - to replace the decisions of companies that have left Russia, such as Microsoft, Google, and so on. Therefore, she finds partners. With them, products are jointly created and developed, sold and implemented, and with the help of partners the company enters new market segments.
With R7 as a technology partner, for example, VK Tech builds a complete product based on its VK WorkSpace platform, which now allows you not only to store and share files, but also edit them. And with "1C" the company cooperates in cloud services: "1C" has a product "1C: Finished workplace," built on the VK Cloud infrastructure, and it is sold by 1C franchisees. And there is the 1C: Cloud Infrastructure service, it makes it possible for customers to transfer their 1C to the VK Tech cloud and get an optimized infrastructure for the 1C product.
One of the new areas of technological partnership that VK Tech is developing is the creation of joint software and hardware systems. VK Tech CEO Pavel Gontarev noted, answering TAdviser questions, that their company created the first PACS with Depo and Yadro. First of all, we are talking about PAC Private Cloud - when a customer can purchase a VK solution for creating a private cloud based on a Depo or Yadro server and put it in their infrastructure. There is also PAC S3 - object storage from VK Tech on hardware from these two vendors. Pavel Gontarev says that this direction will develop further, and new PACS with other VK Tech solutions will appear.
On October 10, VK Tech announced a number of changes for its partner ecosystem. First, the company decided to transfer new sales of the VK WorkSpace platform using the SaaS model to the partner channel. This is an important milestone in the development of VK Tech as a vendor, said Konstantin Novikov, director of partner sales. In addition, in terms of VK WorkSpace, offered under the SaaS model, the company closed a small "hole" that was - it made an API for partners who sell on the mass market. They will now be able to integrate with this product.
VK Tech also announced the creation of a joint center with Force Distribution for development companies. In this center, partners will be able to receive technological assistance in adapting their solutions on the Tarantool platform and the cloud platform. Force Distribution was one of the very first Oracle partners in Russia, it has a database competence center, and now it is creating a separate direction for Tarantool.
In addition, VK Tech announced plans to geographically expand the partner program - now it operates in the CIS countries, where the company has already had its first partners and one distributor. According to Pavel Gontarev, the company "quite successfully" went into business in Central Asia, in particular. VK Tech already has representative offices in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. At the same time, in the next 2-3 years, the main focus will still be on the Russian market, because there is a huge demand for domestic solutions that need to be met.
The company told TAdviser that one of the vectors for the development of the partner program is the introduction of financial motivation for partners when reaching certain, pre-agreed sales indicators for some products or services: these can be investments in the partner's expertise, expansion of his practice through VK Tech, etc. VK Tech is thinking about presenting financial motivation in 2026.
VK Tech's revenue in the 1 quarter of 2024 amounted to 4.5 billion rubles, an increase of 49% year-on-year. 60% of VK Tech's turnover is accounted for by software sales to large corporate customers for on-premium use, and the remaining 40% - by sales of cloud services for NSR. The cloud is the fastest growing direction both due to the expansion of the client pool and due to the emergence of new services. As of the end of 2024, the company has a total of about 6 thousand customers.
2023: Launch of a single partner program for business
On September 28, 2023, VK Tech launched a single partner program for business. Integrators, developers, resellers will be able to develop technological expertise, create their own solutions based on the VK infrastructure and increase revenue from key company products to digitalize processes in organizations.
VK Tech develops IT solutions for business, including cloud services, enterprise communications tools, and solutions to optimize key business processes. Our task: to build a transparent partner program for integrators and developers of IT solutions to help them develop their business and accelerate the digitalization of companies in key sectors of the economy, "said Pavel Gontarev, Managing Director of VK Tech. - Therefore, we are moving from point programs within the framework of individual products to a single system of partner community development based on all our business solutions. |
The partner program will bring together training for IT developers and integrators marketing , support and additional resources for market development. Companies will be able to make money working with all VK Tech products: from cloudy services VK Cloud and corporate communications tools to VK WorkSpace risk management VK GRC and tax monitoring solutions. VK Tax Compliance

Pandemic led to a sharp increase in demand for Mail.ru services for business
In the 2nd quarter of 2020, the B2B direction brought Mail.ru about 500 million rubles with an increase of "several hundred percent" year-on-year. This was announced during a conference call with top managers of the Mail.ru at the end of July by Boris Dobrodeev, CEO of Mail.ru Group in Russia[3]. He also mentioned that the direction of B2B in Mail.ru Group is break even.
The indicator announced by Dobrodeev is about half of the revenue that the Mail.ru received from the direction of services and solutions for business for the whole of 2019. Earlier in the annual report for 2019, the company reported that it earned more than 1 billion rubles in the B2B direction.
According to Dobrodeev, the main contribution to the achievement of these indicators in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was made by cloud services, and the situation due to the coronavirus epidemic significantly contributed to the acceleration of growth.
Many companies and enterprises required scaling, and many of them moved to the Mail.ru cloud to strengthen their capabilities, said the CEO of Mail.ru Group in Russia. |
Answering a question from one of the analysts during a conference call, Boris Dobrodeev clarified that cloud services Mail.ru represented by two key components. The first is the traditional infrastructure as a service where the customer can deploy and process their data in the cloud. The company also provides databases for working with data online.
The top manager of the Mail.ru also recalled the recent conclusion of a cooperation agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The companies agreed to jointly launch a hybrid cloud platform for business. Its users will be able to connect simultaneously to the capacities of both Amazon and Mail.ru Group.
At the same time, the company found it difficult to estimate its current share in the cloud market. Dobrodeev noted that Mail.ru is still at the beginning of the journey: "this is a promising, but still young business." Also, he added, the cloud market in Russia is still quite small.
I think here now everyone is observing rapid growth, - says the CEO of Mail.ru Group in Russia. |
Interview with Managing Director Pavel Gontarev

Interest in the public sector
Speaking at the TAdviser IT Government Day conference on March 11, Pavel Gontarev noted that it is important to have public services within its ecosystem of the company.
All commercial ecosystems intersect with each other: everyone promotes their own front-end services and uses other people's channels to deliver services, because this applies to the field of customer experience, convenience and economic efficiency. I think that the ecosystem of the state will not become an alternative to the ecosystems of commercial companies. Both are inevitable, in the sense that sooner or later public services will be available from banking applications, from social networks, from the search bar, from other commercial services. At least we hope so because it extends the value we give to our users. And we clearly understand that within the framework of our ecosystem it is important for us to have public services, "he said. |
He also shared his impressions of working in the government market in the current regulation:
Having entered this market, we deeply learned what 44-FZ is and everything else related to the regulation of government IT projects. It seems to me that the existing model will greatly complicate the state's construction of a digital ecosystem, since the model of relations with partners within the framework of public procurement looks very difficult. |
2019
Revenue growth by 140%, up to 1 billion rubles
The revenue of the B2B technologies direction of the Mail.ru Group in 2019 exceeded 1 billion rubles, the company said in its annual report. Its share in the group's total income, which amounted to 87.6 billion rubles, is still small, but the direction showed high growth rates - 140% year-on-year.
In fact, we become not only B2C, but also a B2B company, - said TAdviser in the Mail.ru Group. |
Mail.ru Group allocated its business products to a separate division in 2019, to the Mail.ru Digital Technologies company. The former CEO of SAP SNGPavel Gontarev headed the new direction. The division is engaged in the adaptation and implementation of the group's technology solutions for accelerating the business of partners.
The portfolio of this area includes the cloud infrastructure of Mail.ru Cloud Solutions, the Tarantool data integration platform, predictive analytics and big data services, and communication solutions.
One of the revenue drivers of Mail.ru Digital Technologies in 2019 was the launch of a number of new products on the market. For example, the portfolio includes solutions for deploying intracorporate social networks and increasing employee engagement using digital HR technologies.
The company also began to offer not only public cloud services, but also private clouds for strategic clients, and provided the opportunity to deploy its platform industrial internet of things (Industrial IoT,) IIoT not only in the cloud, but also on the customer's side.
The set of offered solutions based on Tarantool has also expanded. For example, Nokia has created a Tarantool-based solution for automating developments in the industrial Internet of Things in Russia.
The company has a special focus on large corporate customers.
"Mail.ru Digital Technologies" develops and develops digital platforms for the largest Russian companies and corporations, including Rosatom VEB RF",,,,," " Rosseti Center "Megaphone" and Aeroflot Alfa-Bank others, - told TAdviser in the Mail.ru Group. |
As part of the development of the B2B business, Mail.ru Group has formed a number of important partnerships for itself with large integrators and software distributors, including IBS Group, Merlion and Axoft.
Creating a Company
In April 2019, Mail.ru Group announced the creation of a new business area in the field of digital technologies. The new direction will continue the company's strategy for the development of the B2B direction. By the time the company was created, business products from Mail.ru Group were already available to the market: Mail.Ru Cloud Solutions cloud services, Tarantool database development project, solutions for corporate socialization and communications. Further, the main task will be to bring technologies and digital products developed by the Mail.ru Group to the corporate market, which will be able to help large and medium-sized businesses in digitalization.
