2025: Yandex bought Boxberry

On April 15, 2025, Yandex announced the acquisition of Boxberry delivery service. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed, but this acquisition will significantly expand the logistics capabilities of the technology giant and increase its presence in the regions of Russia.

According to the press service of Yandex, the deal will increase the client base and expand the geography of logistics and e-commerce services. Yandex ordering points and Yandex.Delivery service will appear in more than 20 new regions in different parts of the country, including Siberia and the Far East. In the territories where "Delivery" is already functioning, the number of points of issue of orders will increase.

Boxberry's logistics infrastructure will be integrated into the Yandex ecosystem. After the integration process is completed, Boxberry customers will have access to all Yandex platform capabilities for e-commerce and delivery, including services, technologies and infrastructure.

Customers of the acquired company will be able to send their goods to more than 14 thousand points of issue of orders throughout Russia. They will also have access to the services of Yandex sorting centers, of which there are currently more than 60. For example, an online store from Khabarovsk will be able to quickly ship a batch of goods to a sorting center in Moscow, and from there send them to customers in various cities of the country - both to delivery points and for delivery by courier.

The list of delivery methods available to Boxberry customers will expand significantly. They will be able to use courier express delivery when the order is delivered to the recipient during the day, as well as delivery within the city. Yandex technologies will help calculate the optimal delivery time and cost based on the balance of supply and demand.[1]
