History

2023: Delivery of 50 ultrasensitive lenses Zenit-S 1.2/50s to Russian company

The Krasnogorsk Zverev Plant (KMZ) of the Shvabe holding of Rostec State Corporation supplied 50 Zenit-S ultrasensitive lenses 1.2/50s to the Russian company. The products were received by the manufacturer of devices for digital radiography, which are included in the package of fluorographs. Schwabe announced this on October 13, 2023.

X-ray equipment equipped with KMZ lenses will allow obtaining fluorograms with a size of 70×70 or 110×110 mm. This will help specialists assess the condition of the chest organs and timely diagnose cancer and tuberculosis.

This is not the first shipment of our lenses to a partner. Photographic equipment "Zenith" differs from analogues in its characteristics - lenses can be used both with digital cameras and integrated into other equipment. At the same time, the quality of the received images will remain at a high level. We are ready to continue to develop partnerships by supplying our products, "said Lev Borisov, Deputy General Director of Schwabe.

Zenit-S 1.2/50s lenses have high constant aperture, which provides accurate control over depth of field and gives good results when shooting in low light. The lenses are treated using multilayer illumination technology, which effectively prevents glare and reflection. The result is a high-quality image with uniform brightness, clarity and high contrast.

2022: Opening of the first monobrand store "Zenith"

Krasnogorsk plant named after S. A. Zverev (KMZ, part of the Shvabe holding of Rostec State Corporation) opened a store of photographic equipment and observation optics of the Zenit brand in the very center of the capital − the Main General Store on Red Square. This was announced on September 16, 2022 by representatives of Schwabe.

"Many were waiting for the opening of the first Zenit store in Russia. Our goal was to create not only a trading space where Russians and guests of our country will purchase well-known products for a long time, but also a real art space for exhibitions, lectures and master classes, "said Alexander Novikov, general director of the Krasnogorsk plant.

The Zenit store with an area of more than 100 square meters is made in a minimalistic style and is located on the third floor of GUM. The concept of the Zenit space is based on the idea of a prism refracting light, and is applied in all elements of the brand: from logo and packaging to display equipment, so two main materials are used in the interior of the store - glass and light.

The architectural bureau BERNASKONI worked on the design project, known for such works as Yeltsin Center in Yekaterinburg, Matrex and Hyperkub in the Skolkovo innovation center. The author of the design and the chief architect of the project of the Zenit trade and exhibition center was Boris Bernasconi.

The store space is divided into two zones: a shopping and exhibition hall and a lounge area, easily transformed into a lecture hall. In the center of the hall there is a demonstration table presented in the form of an art object, in the transparent base of which there is an original lens intended for shooting in outer space.

All elements of the space - from light to furniture and terrazzo tiles - are designed specifically for the Zenit store. The historic vaults of Monnier are open and accentuated by the light of a tension sling lamp with the inscription "Zenith." In addition to the visual component, the store also actively uses sound. A sound installation using "pink noise," created in collaboration with composer Cameron Graham, immerses the visitor in the world of "Zenith."

The Zenit brand became popular with the release of the SLR film camera in 1956. In total, more than 21 million cameras were produced in Krasnogorsk. They were used by amateur photographers not only from Russia, but also from Scandinavia, Germany, England, Spain, Italy and other countries of the world.
