Name change and rebranding
On April 7, 2014, Rostec State Corporation introduced a new brand of the Radioelectronic Technologies Concern (KRET). Due to the promotion of Rostec brands and its holdings, as well as increased attention to the successes of the domestic industry as a whole, state corporations expect to ensure an increase in the added value of products produced by its enterprises. The rebranding was an important stage in the formation of the KRET as a global competitive leader in the production of high-tech products. As of April 2014, it was reported that the number of employees is more than 66 thousand people.
"Today, a strong brand and properly built communications have a significant impact on the formation of added value of products, so rebranding is a natural step that will allow the Concern to increase its capitalization in the long term," said Nikolai Kolesov, CEO of KRET. "The international brand and bilingual website are designed to facilitate the implementation of the KRET strategy for international expansion, subsequent integration into world markets and further entry into the IPO."
During the rebranding, renaming took place: now the name of the Concern consists of a concise abbreviation KRET (KRET) in two languages. This policy fully coincides with the strategy of the Rostec management company, which carried out a name change at the end of 2012. Following the example of the management company, KRET, 75% of whose products have a military purpose, became the first military-industrial complex company to take a course to increase information openness in communicating with partners, investors and the media.
The new KRET logo consists of an abbreviated name and its graphic design, made in the form of a stylized image of a pixel grid, the visible elements of which are three symmetrical diamonds. This is the essence of the identification and recognition system that underlies most of the concern's technologies - the transformation of real objects into a digital model for subsequent software processing, analysis and instant development of a system solution. The new brand added rigor and strength to the image of the concern along with openness and readiness for a mutually beneficial partnership.
As part of the rebranding support, a new multimedia site was launched at www.kret.com in Russian and English. The main goal of the developers of the Concern's web representative office was to create an intuitive Internet resource, the functionality of which combines the maximum quality and advanced logic of anticipating the actions of visitors. All elements of the web pages are a continuation of the history of the new brand in the format of current news from the life of KRET enterprises, areas of activity and product description. Thanks to the synthesis of functionality and aesthetic component, the site clearly reflects the philosophy of the Concern.
"Competition in the global market is impossible without a strong, recognizable brand. However, due to the specifics of dual-use enterprises, this resource is not used sufficiently in Russia. Meanwhile, effective communication with the outside world is a factor in competition for the global market, says Vasily Brovko, head of communications at Rostec. "The rebranding is aimed at creating a modern image of the Concern as an innovative company, the strategic goals of which are the development of unique highly effective technologies for the future, both military and civilian applications, and the transition to a new level of business."
The project of rebranding and creating a new site was implemented by the Apostol Strategic Communications Center. Work on the project began in 2013 and was carried out for more than a year.
"The developers managed to convey the reliability of KRET products and the stability of the company along with openness to cooperation, innovation and investment in a unique graphical language. This project sets a high bar for follower companies in the international electronic technology market, "said Apostle art director Steve Haggarty.
As part of the rebranding program, the concern will also use all digital communication channels, including video blogs and social networks. KRET already has official accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, VKontakte, as well as an official channel on YouTube.
