Rostec is creating a new petrochemical holding, which will include at least 15 specialized enterprises. This was reported in the Russian state corporation on May 18, 2023.

The purpose of the new holding structure is import substitution in the segments of demanded chemical and petrochemical products for the aviation industry, fuel and energy complex, mining companies, medicine, and other industries. The list of products includes aircraft life support systems, self-rescuers for miners, respirators, gas analyzers, chemical protection suits, disinfection systems for medicine and much more, the Rostec press service said.

Rostec creates a new petrochemical holding

The petrochemical holding will include 13 enterprises of the Roskhimzashchita Corporation (produce personal and collective protective equipment), as well as the G.S. Petrov Institute of Plastics (manufacturer of polymer and composite materials), the State Research Institute of Chemistry and Technology of Organoelement Compounds (developer and manufacturer of organoboron, organoelement and organosilicon products), as well as a number of other organizations.

The head structure will be Soyuzkhimexport, which specializes in trade operations in the field of oil and gas chemistry. The general director of this company - Alexey Stankin - will head the new holding. It is specified that 4 billion rubles can be allocated for the creation of new industries within the holding. It is assumed that the company in the future of two or three years will be able to occupy a number of promising niches, in which foreign manufacturers dominated until recently.

A source in the top management of Soyuzkhimexport told Izvestia that the organization aimed at replacing products supplied to Russia from such foreign manufacturers as B/E Aerospace, Air Liquide, Liberr-Aerospace, BASF, Honeywell, etc.^[1][2]
