The necessary equipment is planned to be purchased from both Russian and foreign companies, in particular, from Chinese.
The Science and Technology Center is part of an infrastructure project that will contribute to the formation of an innovative ecosystem of higher education, science and technological entrepreneurship. In total, the center will combine the efforts of more than 200 geneticists, biochemists, bioinformatics, specialists in the field of personalized medicine and engineers.
It is planned that the center's laboratories will create conditions for medical research in the field of replacement of lost organs, experiments on growing living tissues for transplantation, work on the creation and testing of pharmacological drugs for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases in adults and children, TASS reports. |
The construction of the center will be completed by the end of 2024, and its commissioning is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025. Research and production divisions of companies, a technopark, residential and social zones, etc. will also be located on the territory of the infrastructure complex. 2022: Announcement of the creation of the center
Rostec began to create a Center for High Biomedical Technologies (CVBMT) in Surgut for projects to replace lost organs and grow living tissues. The press service of the state corporation announced this on September 26, 2022.
Work on the creation of a center with an area of about 5 thousand square meters. m is being carried out within the framework of an agreement concluded between a subsidiary of Schwabe Moscow (the Schwabe holding is part of Rostec) and the Ugra Scientific and Technological Development Fund. The Contractor has assumed the obligations to develop design documentation, perform construction work, equip the facility with high-tech equipment and instruct future employees of CBBMT. In September 2022, the parties began designing the facility.
The High Biomedical Technology Center will include six laboratories to conduct research and development in genetics, perinatal medicine, cardiology, oncology, neurodegenerative diseases, cell and regenerative medicine. The project will become the basis for the creation of a digital infrastructure of high-tech medicine in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, stressed in Rostec.
The CBBMT laboratories will create conditions for scientific research and development in the field of biomedicine, including the replacement of lost organs, experiments on the cultivation of living tissues for transplantation and work on the creation and testing of pharmacological drugs for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases in adults and children.
CBBMT will act as a platform for the development of programs for additional vocational education, training and retraining of employees of health care institutions and training of researchers in the field of biomedicine, the implementation of network educational programs with leading scientific and educational organizations of Russia and neighboring countries. It is planned to complete the construction of the center by early 2025.
