"the Savyolovsky machine-building plant" is a supplier of complete solutions which include design, production, delivery, installation, engineering and service of the equipment for metallurgy, the Russian Aviation and Space Agency, nuclear power, defense, automobile, oil processing and other industries.

Also SMZ provides services in the development area of technological solutions, design, delivery, installation, balancing and commissioning and service maintenance of the equipment of any level of complexity.

History

2017: JV Rostec and STAN

On August 2 the Rostec state corporation announced that based on "Savelovsky machine-building plant" (enters into Rostec) to Kimry the joint venture (JV) for production of high-precision parts for the Russian corporations will be created.

Plans for creation of the joint venture were discussed by the CEO of Rostec Sergey Chemezov and the president of machine-tool constructing company "STAN" Sergey Nedoroslev during visit of "Savelovsky machine-tool factory" (is a part of STAN company), which is based on the platform SMZ. Survey of production took place in presence of the Governor of the Tver region Igor Rudeni and heads of the OPK leading enterprises — key customers of machine-tool constructing products.

It is planned that the joint venture will specialize in machining of parts. For the industrial companies broadcast of production of parts on outsourcing is an additional opportunity to increase production efficiency and to reduce costs. Production capacities will be located at the "Savelovsky machine-building plant" which is a part. STAN in return will provide the technological equipment and will involve the additional personnel in project implementation. Terms of creation of the joint venture and other essential parameters will be determined during assessment of assets and structuring the transaction.

Creation of projects with use of the mechanism of the public-private partnership (PPP) is a part of strategy of Rostec. Attraction of the Russian private investments and technology competences in strategically important industries to which also the machine-tool construction belongs is aimed at providing technology independence of Russia and improving competitiveness in global markets of the hi-tech industry. Rostec already has a successful experience of projects implementation of PPP in the field of small arms (Kalashnikov Concern) and productions of titanium and alloys (VSMPO-AVISMA corporation) — the CEO of Rostec Sergey Chemezov told. — Cooperation with the STAN group will be one more example of effective public-private partnership: we attracted to the project of the key private player with technology competences and the corresponding experience. The planned joint venture will allow to load free capacities and to create the platform for providing the enterprises of Rostec state corporation and other defense companies with hi-tech Russian products.

Creation of joint venture is a major step in strengthening of the Russian machine-tool construction and a new stage in development of high-precision services due to consolidation of a part of production, financial and intellectual resources for product development of new type — the president of STAN company Sergey Nedoroslev said. — Tasks for the medium term — to upgrade the operating production capacities, having replaced universal machines with the processing centers, to implement computer management and robotization for optimization of labor costs, to pass to the principles "the Industries 4.0" which will allow to integrate all equipment in a single network and to automate decision making. Such upgrade of joint production capacities will allow to expand significantly the current cooperation with the enterprises of Rostec and other industrial companies.
