OJSC Scientific and Production Concern Engineering Technologies (NPK Techmash) is the holding company of Rostec State Corporation in the field of ammunition and special chemistry. Techmash Concern was created in 2011, combining more than 50 enterprises of the ammunition and special chemistry industry. Among them are NPO "Device," "Sibpribormash," "Signal," NII "Search" and others. The total revenue exceeds 100 billion rubles. Since 2011, the number of distressed assets has been reduced from 26 to 12 enterprises. The products produced by the Technology of Mechanical Engineering holding are in service with the armies of more than 100 countries mira.
NPK "Tekhmash" produces high-precision artillery ammunition and artillery shots for various purposes, multiple launch rocket systems, unguided aviation, small-caliber ammunition, aircraft-bomb weapons, etc. The holding's military products are in service in 100 countries. Among the civilian goods are agricultural machines with attached and trailed equipment, metal structures and components for mechanical engineering products, equipment for the mining industry and geological exploration, electrical products, industrial explosives and products made of them, bellows, main pumps and much more.

Consolidation of Rostec artillery plants in the Techmash concern
Rostec is consolidating artillery plants in the Techmash concern, which was announced by the Russian state corporation on April 18, 2023. The reorganization is necessary "so that all competencies in the development, production, repair and maintenance of artillery are concentrated in one place," Rostec said.
Rostec will transfer to the Techmash concern several assets of Uralvagonzavod, namely: Uraltransmash, TsNII Burevestnik and plant No. 9, which produce, among other things, barrel artillery systems. The plants will be transferred in the coming weeks, their teams will remain on the ground and will do their usual thing, according to the state corporation's Telegram channel (the message was published on April 18, 2023).
RBC sources claim that the transfer of enterprises is necessary to achieve production and economic effects. This need arose due to a sharp increase in the needs of the army in connection with the special operation in Ukraine, one of the interlocutors noted. According to the interlocutor of the publication, production will be organized according to the "gun - shot" system: "Techmash" will be engaged in artillery, and UVZ - tanks.
RBC notes that Plant No. 9 is a manufacturer of D-30A howitzers, T-72 and T-90 tank guns. The Ural Transport Engineering Plant (Uraltransmash) produces Msta-S self-propelled howitzers. TsNII "Petrel" is a developer of artillery systems and mortars, including carried 2B11, 2S12 "Sani," and installations for naval artillery. Among his new projects is an uninhabited combat module with a 57-mm gun AU-220M Baikal.
As for civilian projects - and Uraltransmash, for example, is engaged in the production of low-floor trams, rockers for oil production, winches for passenger and freight elevators - Rostec reported that they would remain in the same volume.[1]
Investing 865 million rubles in own design software
In early February 2023, it became known about the decision of Techmash to switch completely to domestic design software. The concern invests 865 million rubles in the implementation of this project, of which 355 million rubles were allocated as part of state support.
According to the press service of Rostec, "Tekhmash received a grant for the revision and implementation of a digital platform for design and technological preparation of production (KTPP) based on Russian software. This will allow import substitution of foreign software, accelerate the development and production of military products, the state corporation said.
The digital platform KTPP will be developed and implemented in 27 months at nine leading enterprises of the concern and then replicated to another 25 enterprises of the holdings of JSC NPK Techmash and JSC Spetschemiya. The project consists of five consecutive stages, including the refinement, initial testing and implementation of a single data model, as well as the further transfer of the digital platform of the CPF to commercial operation. According to the results of the final stage, it is planned to create a center of competence for design and technological preparation of production for the ammunition industry.
Dmitry Konyshev, Director for Digital Transformation of JSC NPK Tekhmash, noted that the functionality of domestic software meets the basic requirements of the ammunition industry. The digital transformation of the areas of design and technological preparation of production covers the lead developers of the products of NPK Techmash with further scaling to all enterprises of the concern. During its implementation, it is planned to create almost two thousand standardized jobs in all areas of the KTPP concern, he added.
The project is included in the list of especially significant and is included in the roadmap "New Industrial Software."
2022: Production of vacuum tubes

2017: Creation of Ammunition Division
The state corporation Rostec is reorganizing the Techmash concern at the beginning of 2017, a number of enterprises will leave the concern. On their basis, Tehmash enterprises will form divisions of special chemistry and ammunition. Sergey Rusakov left the post of general director. Vladimir Nikolaevich Lepin, head of the Splav holding, has been appointed acting general director of the Techmash concern.
The reorganization takes place as part of the implementation of the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation on the diversification of military products, as well as the Strategy of the Armament cluster of Rostec State Corporation to increase the production of civilian products. On the basis of enterprises that left Tehmash, a special chemistry division will be formed later - it will also become part of the Armament cluster. The division of special chemistry will develop, among other things, the production of civilian products. In addition, an ammunition division will be formed.
