2025: Kionfilm launch

MTS Media Holding on February 27, 2025 announced the launch of the original content production unit into a separate business and the start of production of series under the auspices of the new KIONFILM studio. The priority task of the studio will be the production of projects for the KION online cinema, as well as other online platforms, TV channels and film distribution.

The production potential of the KIONFILM studio is more than 30 projects per year, a significant part of which will be shot exclusively for KION. These are full-length feature films and documentaries, series in different genres and non-scripted projects.

In the scenario development for February 2025 there are dozens of projects, among which the series "Capitalists" about the key eras of the Russian economy with "Studio" YOU, "" large-scale project "Captain's Daughter" together with Star Media, "Dowel Island" according to the script of Andrei Zolotarev together with COSMOS Studio, series "Prints" according to the script of Nikita Kukartsev with Oksana Akinshina and Dmitry Chebotarev in the lead roles, directed by Sergey Filatov ("Lesson").

Among the series are in production and the following studio projects are being prepared for release: comedy "Aktorishche" with Dmitry Nagiev and Anton Lapenko, with the participation of the film company "Place of Power," detective drama "Reservation" with Philip Yankovsky and Denis Shvedov, produced jointly with the film company Team Films, comedy "Theater Zone" together with "K.B.A." with Nikita Kologriv and Oleg Vereshchagin, in partnership with LOOKFILM: the crime comedy "Popados" with Makar Khlebnikov and Elizaveta Ishchenko and the comedy "Unreality-2" with Olga Dibtseva, Nikolai Fomenko and Inga Oboldina, together with the LEGIO FELIX comedy "Zheka Russell" with Eldar Kalimulin, Ekaterina Klimova and Sergei Novosad.

Earlier in the production within the studio went: the third season of the folk hit - The series "Kidney" with Liubov Aksenova, Nikolai Fomenko and Dmitry Lysenkov and the comedy "Call Vitya!" with Ilya Sobolev and Sasha Bortich together with LOOKFILM, the drama "Mother's Son" with the studio "Videoprokat" with Yevgeny Tsyganov, Paulina Andreeva and Mikita Voronov, the melodrama "Vinograd" with Pavel Priluchkov, studio Novino Chekhov "with the participation of Kovnekhino.

The work of the KIONFILM studio involves active interaction with television channels and streaming platforms in order to further distribute content, as well as the production of full-length rental films.
