For the purchase of this company, Sistema Telecom Assets (part of AFK Sistema) paid 450 million rubles. Most of these funds are paid for by converting the debt into the capital of Arkhyz. Its participants did not disclose other parameters of the deal.

According to the representative of Sistema Sergey Kopytov, the company considers the production of bottled water one of the most attractive segments of the consumer goods market of mass demand in Russia.

By the beginning of June 2022, Arkhyz Original owns the entire property complex, trademarks and production licenses, as well as Delta TD, which is engaged in sales and marketing.

Among its assets are wells with medical canteen and drinking mineral water in the village of Arkhyz, the village of Kardonikskaya in Karachay-Cherkessia, as well as in the villages of Vinsady in the Stavropol Territory and the Red East near Kislovodsk. In addition, the company has factories in Arkhyz and Cherkessk with a total capacity of 41 thousand bottles per hour and a plant in Vinsady with a capacity of 10 thousand bottles per hour.

By 2026, the company plans to increase revenue by 14 times and increase market share from the current 1.5 to 12%.

According to SPARK-Interfax, Arkhyz Original owns Arkhyz Vita, a popular brand of bottled mineral water in Russia. In 2019, Arkhyz occupied 3% of the turnover of the bottled water market in Russia, according to Euromonitor International. The brand was in sixth place.^[1]

AFK Sistema buys Arkhyz Original

In mid-February 2022, it became known about the sale of a 100% stake in Arkhyz Original LLC (owns the Arkhyz Vita trademark, a popular brand of bottled mineral water in Russia) to AFK Sistema. Sistema Telecom Assets (part of AFK Sistema) filed a corresponding petition with the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS ).

AFK Sistema is interested in expanding its presence in the drinking water segment, including by replenishing its product portfolio. Including through the acquisition of the company "Arkhyz Original," - the official representative of the company Sergey Kopytov told Interfax.

AFK Sistema buys Arkhyz Original

By February 2022, AFK Sistema already has assets in the production of drinking water. The corporation's structure owns 33.3% of Aqua Invest LLC, which owns 75% of Aqua Holding LLC, which is engaged in the production and spill of Essentuki brands No. 4 and No. 17, Native Lakes and Slavyanovskaya.

In November 2021, Kommersant, referring to the Sistema Telecom Assets reporting data, wrote that the company provided Arkhyz Original with a loan of 291 million rubles by the end of 2023. According to the sources of the publication, Sistema actually controls the spill and distribution business of Arkhyza. Later, the interlocutors of the newspaper clarified that the manufacturer of Narzan could also come under the control of structures associated with Holding Aqua.

Sources of the publication in the industry also said that AFK Sistema plans to include Arkhyz in the portfolio of brands Holding Aqua. The corporation then confirmed that it is interested in expanding its presence in this market segment.

Prior to that, Visma CJSC was engaged in the supply of Arkhyz, but in 2017 it was declared bankrupt, and in 2021 the company's property was sold at auction.^[2]
