2021: Start of the organization for development of the Rust programming language
At the beginning of February, 2021 Google, Microsoft, AWS, Huawei, Mozilla started Rust Foundation non-profit organization. She will be responsible for support of an ecosystem and developers of a programming language Rust and also for sponsoring of the project.
Will join ten people the board of Rust Foundation, on one representative from each founder company and also five people from Rust project board. The budget for the next two years of work of fund is already created, it will make $1 million. These funds will be allocated for development of the services, programs and also organization of events focused on support of the main meynteyner of Rust.
Mozilla transferred all trademarks and assets of infrastructure, including the register of packets on crates.io, in Rust Foundation. We are grateful Mozilla, the company cultivated Rust as the research project to release of the first stable release in 2015.
