2021: MTS became the 100% owner of 6 telecom operators from the Green Point group
On April 15, 2021, MTS became the 100% owner of six regional fixed-line operators from the Green Point group. We are talking about assets in Stavropol, Mikhailovsk, Nevinnomyssk, Elista and Tambov.
As part of the first stage, MTS acquired 51% of the authorized capital in all 13 telecom operators that are part of the Green Point in 12 cities. To gain full control over the group, MTS had the right under the option to completely close the transaction within two years and buy out the remaining 49% in seven telecom operators in other cities - Belgorod, Lipetsk, Ufa, Neftekamsk, Beloretsk, Tomsk and Vladivostok.

According to her, after the closure of the transaction, more than 1 million households in 12 regions of the Russian Federation will receive expanded access to various digital services of the MTS user ecosystem.

2020: MTS bought Green Point
On May 22, 2020, the details of the sale of the Green Point to MTS became known. From the annual statements of the Big Four operator, it follows that he paid 1.37 billion rubles for the purchase of a 51% stake in the Cypriot offshore companies Achemar Holdings and Clarkia Holdings, which own operators from the Green Point group.
As for the remaining 49% of the authorized capital, MTS entered into an option agreement allowing the company to demand to sell this share to it, and the sellers to oblige MTS to buy this share from them within three years. The deal was concluded in February 2020.

As the managing director of Green Point Sergey Kostelyanets explained to RBC, despite the sale of a 51% stake in MTS, the contract with VimpelCom remained in force. We are talking about a contract worth 37.5 billion rubles, while the cost of servicing according to the old model by the company itself with the involvement of contractors for the maintenance of individual networks was estimated at 48 billion rubles.[2]
