2023: MTS bought "Subtleties of Tourism"

On May 11, 2023, MTS announced the purchase of the Tourism Subtleties portal, one of the largest travel media in the CIS market with an average monthly audience of 2.5 million visitors. Closing the transaction on the acquisition of the Bronevik group for the development of MTS Travel

On July 13, 2022, MTS PJSC announced the closure of the transaction to acquire 100% of the Bronevik group (Bronevik Online LLC and Bronevik Company LLC), one of the representatives of the Russian online hotel booking market, to develop the business direction of MTS Travel (MTS Travel LLC) in the field of travel and tourism. Creating a Company

On June 8, 2022, MTS registered a new subsidiary, MTS Travel. Its main activity is the tourism business.

MTS drew the attention of Interfax to the creation of a tourist subsidiary, referring to the data of the SPARK-Interfax system. It indicates the authorized capital of the new LLC - 200 million rubles. MTS is the 100% owner of MTS Travel.

MTS registered a tourist "daughter"

Other activities of MTS Travel include:

  • booking services;
  • provision of tourist information and excursion tours;
  • software development;
  • rental and leasing of cars, aircraft;
  • rental of goods for recreation and sports, etc.

The head of MTS Travel is Vadim Melnikov, until 2017 he headed New Travel Technologies LLC (tutu.ru travel service).

By June 9, 2022, the website travel.mts.ru published advice from local residents for tourists wishing to visit Irkutsk, Gorno-Altaysk, Kislovodsk and Kavminvody. They talk about the sights and give clues to visitors. By June 9, 2022, MTS did not make official statements about the start of MTS Travel and the launch of projects based on it.

This is not the first MTS initiative in the field of tourism. Thus, the company is developing the analytical digital platform "MTS Region," which helps the authorities to receive up-to-date data on the composition of the population of the regions, seasonal migrations and tourist flow.

Analysis of tourist flows is an estimate of the actual number of tourists, the average duration of the trip, the most popular modes of transport and the most popular locations. In addition, with the help of Big Data, you can get an average "portrait" of a tourist, including looking at socio-demographic characteristics, income level and sphere of interest.[1]
