Ozon shares allowed to trade on Astana stock exchange

Ozon's American depositary shares were admitted to trading on the Astana International Exchange (AIX) under the ticker symbol OZON. The press service of the company announced this on July 28, 2023.

Ozon securities trading on IX will begin on July 31, 2023. The marketplace will not issue new shares or securities in connection with the listing on the Astana International Exchange - already issued ADSs will be able to apply on the site. It is also noted that the listing on AIX does not affect trading on the Moscow Exchange - they will continue as usual. In addition, the retailer is in the process of appealing Nasdaq's delisting decision by the end of July 2023.

The company expects that listing on AIX could potentially increase the liquidity of ADS Ozon and provide investors, including international ones, with the opportunity to trade securities on the stock exchange.

Ozon has been actively developing business in Kazakhstan since 2021. By July 2023, the company operates two large fulfillment centers in Alma-Ata and Astana and announced the construction of a new logistics complex. Ozon also develops in Kazakhstan a franchise of a network of points of issue of orders under the management of local entrepreneurs.

Opening of the second logistics center in Kazakhstan

On May 11, 2023, Ozon announced the opening of a second fulfillment center in Kazakhstan. It was launched in the largest city in the country - Alma-Ata. Thanks to this project, the marketplace expects to significantly increase the range of goods for local buyers.

The opening of a new warehouse complex in Kazakhstan will allow us to significantly increase the range of goods for local buyers and ensure storage of 720,000 goods in a variety of categories - from consumer goods to household appliances and electronics. The fulfillment center will simplify the access of local entrepreneurs to the marketplace and allow them to sell goods both to buyers in Kazakhstan and to a multimillion-dollar audience of buyers in Russia, - said Molder Rysalieva, General Director of Ozon in Kazakhstan.

The company stressed that the Ozon fulfillment center in Alma-Ata provides a full cycle of processing online orders - it accepts goods from sellers, stores them, and also completes parcels and sends them to customers. The total area of ​ ​ the object by floor is 5000 square meters, and its capacity allows you to process up to 80,000 orders per day.

The company did not disclose investments in the construction of the warehouse complex of Alma-Ata. The first such Ozon center was earlier in Astana, 40 billion tenge (over $87.2 million) was invested in it. The capacity of the Ozon logistics park project is 70 thousand square meters of storage facilities: the first stage - 40 thousand square meters. m, the second stage - 30 thousand square meters. m.

By May 2023, more than 15,000 Kazakhstani sellers were registered on Ozon, whose sales in 2022 amounted to more than 10 billion tenge. The most popular goods on the site are electronics, household goods, children's goods and consumer goods, Ozon said.[2]

Opening of the first fulfillment center in Kazakhstan

Ozon opened its first fulfillment center in Kazakhstan, which the Internet retailer announced on February 15, 2023. Thanks to this project in Astana, the company expects to reduce the delivery time for Kazakhstani sellers to Russia by 1.5 times - up to 10 days.

Ozon opens its first logistics center in Kazakhstan

The logistics center in Kazakhstan has an area of ​ ​ 10 thousand square meters. m. D it can store up to 700 thousand different goods of various categories - from food to electronics and building materials. The center can process at least 24 thousand orders per day, Ozon said. The Ozon Fulfillment Center in Astana includes a full cycle of "production" of online orders - from receiving goods from sellers for storage to forming a parcel. The opening of the center will allow sellers from Kazakhstan to scale sales to a multi-million loyal audience of the marketplace in Russia, Ozon believes. The company did not disclose the volume of investments in the implementation of this project.

Ozon began expanding its presence in the region from the second half of 2021. By February 2023, the logistics infrastructure of the retailer in Kazakhstan includes two sorting centers in Almaty and Astana, as well as about fifty branded points for issuing orders. Also in February 2022, the company launched its courier delivery in Almaty, Astana and Karaganda.[3]
