Therefore, we invest a lot in the development of the company, training our own highly qualified personnel who will be able to successfully apply the knowledge gained in practice. This is the essence of the key approach in the development of any organization - to teach its top managers to think practically, to form strategic thinking, "said Elena Brusilova, President of the MEDSI Group of Companies. }}
The program consists of several thematic blocks, including the study of strategy and leadership, marketing, financial planning, customer focus, operational efficiency and team management.
As part of the project and course activities within the Executive Master of Healthcare Administration program "Management in Commercial Healthcare," our colleagues gain a basis of practical knowledge. The key idea of the course is applied: maximum immersion in the topics of the module for interactive study of potential initiatives and creating a bank of course ideas. According to the results of each module, each participant must turn the topic studied into a vivid practical idea in the form of a product, solution or service, or an entire project, and then monetize it already in operating activities, "explained Anna Rozarenova, board member, director for organizational development of MEDSI Group of Companies. |
An international visiting module in Turkey awaits the audience, where they will get acquainted with the best foreign practices of organizing and providing medical care.
SKOLKOVO The program prepared by the School's Health Development Center and the MEDSI team sets several important goals. As a educational result, participants will receive a holistic idea of the challenges of health care, learn to apply the most effective approaches to solving the main problems, build a development strategy and control its implementation. In addition to assessing our own profile of competencies with awareness of development zones, we are working together to ensure that during the MEDSI program we receive initiatives formed by the bank participants to develop and optimize the organization's work on each of the topics studied at the program, "added Marina Veldanova, MD, Professor of Business Practice, Director of the Health Development Center of the SKOLKOVO School of Management. |

We do everything to help talented people become successful: successful managers, employees, colleagues - which ultimately combines into one big overall success of the company. In private medicine, in addition to providing quality medical care, like any commercial organization, the task is to make a profit, and the head of the clinic should not only freely navigate market trends and operate with economic terms, understand the peculiarities of running a medical business, but also successfully apply approaches to medical organization management, Anna Rozarenova, Director for Organizational Development and Human Resources at MEDSI Group of Companies, said. |

Revenue growth by 12.2%, to 25 billion rubles, profit - by 18.6%, to 3.4 billion rubles
The Medsi group of companies in 2020 raised 25 billion rubles, which is 12.2% more than a year earlier, when the figure was measured at 22.3 billion rubles. Medsi also increased its revenue and OIBDA, despite the negative impact of the restrictions on patient flows in the first half of the year, "said Vladimir Chirakhov, President of AFK Sistema, quoted by the press service of the state corporation. |
The reporting also said that the increase in Medsi's revenue in 2020 occurred against the backdrop of an increase in the average check due to the provision of services for the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19, as well as the expansion of the outpatient network in Moscow and the purchase of clinics in Izhevsk. The positive dynamics of OIBDA is ensured thanks to the participation in the Michurinsky Project LLC, joint venture with Capital Group for the construction of the Nebo residential complex.
Among other positive factors for Medsi in AFK Sistema were the implementation of deferred demand for medical services, the re-profiling of a hospital in Otradnoye for the treatment of patients with COVID-19, the growth of outpatient revenue from the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19, the development of home care and telemedicine services.
The increase in the average check is due to an increase in the share of expensive services in the outpatient segment for the diagnosis of COVID-19 (computed tomography), as well as the high cost of the average case of treating a patient with COVID-19 in a hospital in Otradnoye.
By the end of December 2020, the Medsi network included 49 institutions in different regions of Russia, as well as an ambulance service, a home assistance service, a medical wellness and two sanatoriums. 3,500 doctors worked in the company's clinics, and the capacity of institutions was measured 5 million visits. Revenue growth by 25.8% to 22.3 billion rubles
In 2019, Medsi's revenue amounted to 22.3 billion rubles, which is 25.8% more than a year ago. The company associated this rise with an increase in the volume of services provided.
The increase in hospital utilization is due to an increase in the volume of assistance provided across all channels, while the main driver in 2019 was the compulsory medical insurance channel, Medsi said in a statement.
Net profit of Medsi at the end of 2019 increased by 175.3% on an annualized basis - to 2.9 billion rubles. Positive dynamics was ensured by the growth of OIBDA and the effect of participation in Michurinsky Project LLC.
Adjusted OIBDA increased by 64.3% year-on-year to RUB 5.9 billion. The significant increase in the indicator was due to an increase in revenue and the effect of participation in Project Michurinsky LLC, a joint venture with Capital Group for the construction of the Nebo residential complex on Michurinsky Prospekt (+ 1.1 billion rubles for the full year 2019 ).
Medsi's profitability for adjusted OIBDA in 2019 increased by 6.2 percentage points on an annualized basis - to 26.5%. The main factors of profitability growth were an increase in load, an increase in efficiency from 1 sq. m of medical space, an increase in the provision of services in open clinics, as well as the effect of participation in Michurinsky Project LLC.
It is noted that the growth of Medsi's income in 2019 occurred through all channels: voluntary health insurance (VHI), individuals, in the segment of compulsory health insurance.

The home doctor call service is available to all patients - VHI and individuals who pay for the treatment themselves. The cost of calling a therapist is from 3100 rubles, a pediatrician - from 4510 rubles.
Modern technical equipment of medical teams helps to provide assistance to the patient promptly and in full. The main working tool of a doctor on the road is a tablet where he sees the symptoms voiced by the patient when called, the optimal route of his journey, taking into account the situation on the roads, and most importantly - the patient's medical card, with the results of diagnostic studies, prescriptions of doctors, the history of his visits to the Medsi clinics. The availability of all data allows the doctor to quickly arrive on call and conduct a full-fledged appointment, prescribing treatment taking into account the clinical picture of the patient.
The organization of the department and auxiliary services is designed to ensure the prompt arrival of the doctor and its effectiveness for the benefit of the patient's health. The call falls into a single call center "Medsi" and is promptly transferred to the coordination center of the Department, where it is routed to a specific doctor who can come to the call first. Thanks to a specially developed navigation program, the employee of the coordination center sees all patient applications, the location of doctors and makes the optimal routes of visits for them. The system of organization of work excludes data loss, incomplete transfer of data from the patient to the doctor, telephone conversations. All information received by the employees of the call center in full is promptly received on the doctor's tablet along with contact information and a medical record.
In general, the service of calling a doctor at home is standardized and is available to any person who called the call center "Medsi," the company emphasized.

Plans for R&D Laboratories and Nuclear Medicine Centers
On December 26, 2017, it became known about Medsi's plans to spend 2.4 billion rubles on creating its own research laboratories and nuclear medicine centers. The company hopes to attract investors, but the latter may be deterred by the long payback period of projects, Kommersant reports.
Speaking at the Rusfond forum, Medsi medical director Pavevl Bogomolov announced the company's intention to invest $1.6 billion in creating its own R&D laboratory, which will include immuno-oncology (CAR-T) - personalized cancer treatment, genetic editing (CRISPR-Cas9), as well as cellular technologies (biosynthesis, growing tissues and organs from stem cells), cryobank (storage of biomaterials) and the manufacture of personalized products.
With the help of the Center for Nuclear Medicine, Medsi plans to develop radiotherapy in oncology. The cost of this project will be about 800 million rubles. The company clarified that in order to implement its plans, Medsi expects to attract third-party investors.
According to the director of the Research Institute of Healthcare and Medical Management David Melik-Huseynov, by the end of 2017 there are no more than 10 centers in Russia and about the same number of R&D laboratories, and the number of patients with oncology is growing by 500 thousand people every year.
He said that a large number of plans for the creation of such centers and laboratories have already been announced by state and private medical institutions, but no one has yet committed a crime to the construction. The main problem is the long payback of investments in such projects, the expert says.
It is difficult to find a co-investor who is ready to wait at least ten years for a return on investment. This will be the difficulty for Medsi - to convince possible partners in the results of the project, - said David Melik-Huseynov.[12] |
Number of employees - more than 6,200 people
As of April 2017, the company employs more than 6,200 people, including 2,286 medical specialists. Joint remote treatment project with MTS
On March 17, 2017, it became known about the plans of the Medsi Group of Companies and the mobile operator MTS (both part of AFK Sistema) to launch a joint remote treatment project.
We are talking about an online consultation service, with the help of which any patient, using a mobile device or computer, will be able to remotely consult Medsi medical specialists of various profiles (there are about 2 thousand of them by March 2017).
It is planned to implement communication with the doctor via video link and chat, as well as the exchange of photos and the ability to make an appointment. The doctor will have access to the patient's personal office, where he will be able to record symptoms and appointments. All diagnostic information and medical history will be stored in a single system of the Medsi network.
Thanks to the new service, high-quality medical care will become more accessible (especially relevant for remote regions) and it will be possible to save time on adjusting the course of treatment.
The timing of the launch of a joint project in the field of telemedicine in MTS and Medsi is not disclosed. A RBC source close to the operator says the service could start operating before the summer of 2017. Initial investment in the project will amount to about $20 million.
However, all the possibilities of remote treatment will not be immediately available to Russians. By March 2017, telemedicine services in Russia were prohibited, but there are two bills to legalize them: one was developed by the Ministry of Health in the spring of 2016, the other by experts from the Institute for Internet Development (IRI), the Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF) and Yandex.
Prior to the adoption of regulation, consultations within the MTS service will be only advisory in nature: the doctor will be able to offer to undergo an additional examination or discuss previously made appointments.[13]
2012: Association with the MC of the Office of the Mayor and the Government of Moscow
On April 5, 2012, it was announced that CJSC Medsi Group of Companies (Medsi) and the State Unitary Enterprise Medical Center of the Moscow Mayor and Government Administration (GUP), a large departmental complex of medical and preventive enterprises in the capital, began the process of combining their assets on the basis of Medsi.
The task of the new combined company Medsi is to form a unified system for the provision of full-cycle medical care, ensuring high quality standards and advanced technologies for treating patients. The company will attract international experience and expertise of leading industry partners to build an effective and modern management system for medical institutions in Russia. The use of foreign best practices in investing in medicine and in the operational efficiency of medical institutions will create a qualitatively new industry solution that can be scaled up in Russian medicine further.
"A dramatic improvement in the level of medical care in Russia requires the involvement of modern foreign medical experience and advanced ideas," said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. - The successful introduction of the latest technologies of treatment and management of medical enterprises is impossible in one individual clinic, even if it has financial support. A radical transformation of the domestic medical sphere is possible only if best practices are scaled up. The Moscow government and AFK Sistema are taking the first step towards gaining new experience, creating a large platform for developing modern methods of treatment and organizing medical care in domestic medicine. "
Medsi is a leader in the private medicine market in the capital region and in Russia, so the choice of Medsi as a partner in this unique project is not accidental, and we are grateful to the Moscow government for this, "said Vladimir Yevtushenkov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AFK Sistema. - On the basis of the combined company Medsi, with the involvement of foreign experience and investments, we will work out modern standards and technologies of the medical process, which will improve the quality of medical services provided to the population, ensure the technical re-equipment of institutions and modernization of medical infrastructure. The unique experience that Medsi will receive when implementing a joint project with the Moscow State Unitary Enterprise will make it possible to create a scalable new generation solution in medicine. "
As part of the transaction, Medsi initiated an additional issue of shares by closed subscription in favor of two participants: the State Unitary Enterprise and a special legal entity registered in the eurozone, through which investment funds will invest in Medsi. As payment for shares of an additional issue, the State Unitary Enterprise will contribute its assets in the form of property with a market value of 6.043 billion rubles, and as a result of the transaction it will receive 25.02% of the shares of the combined company. PMT will take over the rights of the Medsi shareholder after the transfer of all agreed medical assets to the company's balance sheet, which should be completed by the end of 2012.
The second participant in the additional issue will pay Medsi shares in cash in the amount of 6.035 billion rubles. and will become the owner of a 24.98% stake in the combined company. Investment funds will act as financial investors of the project; their funds will be used to implement the investment program of the combined company, including the repair, modernization and retrofitting of medical institutions in Moscow, as well as the regional development of the Medsi network.
After the implementation of the transaction, AFK Sistema, which provides Medsi's business and assets as a platform for integration, will have a 50% stake in the combined company.
