2021

Searches in the case of purchases of CT scanners at an inflated price

At the end of September 2021, the Ministry of Health of the Chelyabinsk Region was searched in the case of the purchase of CT scanners at an inflated price. Operational measures carried out by employees of the regional FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs took place within the framework of the initiated criminal case under Part 1 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of authority).

This was reported to Interfax by a source familiar with the situation. According to him, law enforcement agencies seized a number of documents on state tenders for the purchase of medical equipment.

The Chelyabinsk Ministry of Health conducted searches in the case of purchases of CT scanners at an inflated price

According to the agency's interlocutor in law enforcement agencies, the investigation suspects officials of the regional Ministry of Health of abuse in the procurement of medical equipment under the national project "Healthcare." In particular, in April and May 2020, the region acquired three Optima ST540 multispiral CT scans worth 46.5 million, 47 million and 47.5 million rubles each. According to law enforcement agencies, the total cost of the purchase was exceeded by 27 million rubles.

According to the publication Znak.com, searches were also carried out at equipment suppliers. The companies Region-Service LLC, Medservice-Region CJSC and Ural Med Reserve LLC came to the attention of law enforcement agencies. During the investigative actions, accounting documents were seized.

According to TASS, searches were also carried out at the Deputy Minister of Health Aleksei Kuznetsov. No one has been detained. The press service of the Ministry of Health of the Chelyabinsk region confirmed the fact of investigative actions in the department and noted that the ministry is providing all the necessary assistance.

Ex-head of the Chelyabinsk Ministry of Health sentenced to 4 years in prison for a bribe
