The Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution for Additional Education "Federal Center for Additional Education and Organization of Recreation and Rehabilitation of Children" (hereinafter - FSBOU DO FCDO) is a unitary non-profit organization created to carry out educational, social, scientific, methodological, organizational and cultural functions. The founder of the Institution is the Russian Federation. The functions and powers of the Founder of the Institution are exercised by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

Based on item 2.3. The Charter of FSBOU DO FCDO is a federal resource center for the development of additional education for children (hereinafter - FRC) of natural science, technical, tourism and local history, as well as the field of organization of recreation and rehabilitation of children.

FRC methodically coordinates the regional network of organizations of natural science, technical and tourist and local history trends of additional education of children, which as of 01.01.21 includes 135 children's technology parks "Kvantorium," 86 mobile technology parks "Kvantorium," 71 centers "IT-cube," 30 centers "DNA" (House of Scientific Collaboration), 85 regional resource centers for the development of the natural science focus of additional education for children, 51 regional Eco-station, 85 regional centers for youth tourism and regional resource centers for recreation and rehabilitation of children.

The number of organizations conducting educational activities under additional general education programs for children (according to Rosstat, total):

  • natural science orientation - 22 967
  • technical orientation - 22 429
  • tourism and local history - 15 661
  • Children's Recreation and Rehabilitation Organizations - 11 369

History

  • The institution was created on June 15, 1918, when, on the initiative of the chairman of the executive committee of the Sokolnichesky district of Moscow, Ivan Vasilyevich Rusakov, the Biological Station of Young Nature Lovers (Biostation) was created.
  • In September 1918, the Central Bureau of School Excursions was created by order of the Ministry of Education of the RSFSR dated November 11, 1981 No. 352 "On the Opening of a Tourist Base at the Central Children's Excursion and Tourist Station of the Ministry of Education of the RSFSR." The institution was renamed as the Central Children's Excursion and Tourist Station of the Ministry of Education of the RSFSR;
  • 1922 - Biostation becomes the Central Biological Station of Young Naturalists named after K.A. Timiryazev of the People's Commissariat of Education of the RSFSR;
  • 1934 Biostation was renamed the Central Station of Young Naturalists and Experimenters agriculture (Junnats) of the Ministry of Education of the RSFSR;
  • 2003 - The Central Station of Junnats was reorganized into the Children's Environmental and Biological Center of the Ministry; formations Russia
  • 2004 - the institution was called the Federal Children's Environmental and Biological Center;
  • 2018 - the institution is endowed with the status of the Federal Resource Center for the Development of the Natural Science Orientation of Additional Education of Children;
  • 2020 - transferred the technical focus of additional education of children;
  • 2020 - assigned the status of the Innovation Platform of the Russian Academy of Education;
  • 2021 - the tourist and local history focus was transferred, which was previously implemented on the basis of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Federal Center for Children and Youth Tourism and Local History." The institution was renamed the "Federal Center for Additional Education and Organization of Recreation and Rehabilitation of Children."
