History

2021: Purchase of Oyster Telecom customer base

In October 2021, it became known about the sale of the client base of Oyster Telecom to the daughter of Rostelecom, the St. Petersburg company Severen-Telecom. This information was reported to RBC by an informed source and confirmed by Irina Zotova, director of the department of external communications of the North-West macro-regional branch of PJSC Rostelecom. 2017: Criminal case against the general director

In November 2017, the Vyborg District Court of St. Petersburg received a criminal case against Timur Svirin, at that time the general director of Severen-Telecom, the joint press service of the courts of St. Petersburg said. He was accused of commercial bribery on an especially large scale (part 7 of article 204 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and attempted fraud (article 30, part 3 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Later, he pleaded guilty, the court sentenced Svirin to a fine of 2 million rubles. More details here.

2011

In April 2011, the company was absorbed and it became part of the assets of Rostelecom OJSC as a subsidiary.

2010

On December 27, 2010, North-West Telecom OJSC acquired a 100% stake in Severen-Telecom CJSC, one of the largest alternative operators in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. The amount of the transaction amounted to about 28 million US dollars, excluding the company's debt obligations. At the time of acquisition, Severen-Telecom CJSC had a net debt of US $1.9 million.
