Date of establishment of educational organization:

By order of the USSR State Committee for Vocational Education No. 73 of 18.05.1987, the institute was organized as the Kazan branch of the All-Union Institute for Advanced Training of Senior Workers and Specialists of the PTO.

By order of the Ministry of General and Vocational Education of the Russian Federation No. 688 of 11.04.1997, the branch was reorganized into the Interregional Institute for Advanced Training of Specialists in Primary Vocational Education.

By order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated 02.06.2016 No. 657, the institute was renamed the Interregional Institute for Advanced Training of Professional Education (MIPK ACT), a federal state budgetary educational institution for additional vocational education.

By order of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation dated 27.07.2020 No. 364, the institute was renamed the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution for Additional Vocational Education "Institute for the Development of Vocational Education" (IRPO).

From the moment of creation from 1997 to 2002, and then from 2004 to 21.01.2021, the institute was headed by a candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor, honorary worker of the higher school Ildar Yadkarovich Shaidullin.

By order of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation dated 21.01.2021 No. 12-03-02/3, Maxim Georgievich Dmitriev, candidate of political science, was appointed acting rector.
