2024: State Ownership

The largest wine producer in Russia, Kuban-Vino, has passed into state ownership. Previously, the owner of the company was the Ariant group. This became known in April 2024.

According to data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRUL), information about the change of ownership of Kuban-Vino was reflected there on April 10, 2024. The company itself, commenting on its transition to state ownership, said that the manufacturer continues to work and produce products according to the plans.

Now there are certain legal processes that we cannot comment on. The only thing we can say is that all our companies continue to work, all local employees, production and its delivery to stores are going according to plans, - Forbes quotes a statement from the Kuban-Vino press service on April 11, 2024.

The agricultural company Yuzhnaya, the wine producer Center for the Food Industry - Ariant and the agrofirm for the breeding of pigs Ariant also became state-owned. At the same time, the composition of the top management of companies has not changed. These companies were part of Ariant Group of Companies LLC, owned by businessman Alexander Aristov, co-owner of the Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant (CHEMK).

Earlier in April 2024, the Arbitration Court of the Chelyabinsk Region satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation to recover 105 billion rubles from the ex-owners of the Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant (CHEMK), appropriated by CHEMK as unjust enrichment.

It is noted that although the assets of the Ariant agricultural direction were not created through privatization, the court decided to bring them to the case, since illegal enrichment, in particular, made it possible to acquire Kuban-Vino LLC[1]
