2023: The budget of the judicial system of Russia for 2024 increased by 35%

The Russian budget for 2024 includes 329.2 billion rubles of expenses for the Judicial Department, which is 35% more than it was at the beginning of 2023. This was Supreme Court Russia Alexander Gusev announced by the Director General of the Judicial Department at a plenary meeting of the Council of Judges on December 5, 2023.

According to him, an increase in the budget for the judicial system in the Russian Federation is also observed at the end of 2023. Initially, at the beginning of 2023, the budget of the Judicial Department amounted to 244.3 billion rubles, at the end of November 2023, the amount of funding was increased by 25.5% and amounted to 306.7 billion rubles, Gusev added.

Over 25 years, significant work has been done by the Judicial Department and its bodies. It was possible to achieve a significant level of funding for judicial activities. So, in 1998, the budget of the system of courts of general jurisdiction was just over 3 billion rubles, - said Alexander Gusev at the International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Judicial Department in March 2023.

Gusev said that in 25 years the Judicial Department has managed to bring to a qualitatively new level and the infrastructure of the courts, as well as achieve significant success in ensuring state guarantees of the independence of judges, their safety, and improving the professional level of activity.

Every year the standards for the administration of justice are increasing: many processes are automated, more information technologies and services are being introduced into legal proceedings that help make justice open, transparent and accessible to citizens, Gusev summed up.[1]
