Closing the deal with Rostelecom

Rostelecom, an integrated provider of digital services and solutions, announced to TAdviser on March 28, 2023 that it had closed the acquisition of 100% of Fuzzy Logic Labs LLC. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

The main activities of Fuzzy Lodge Labs are countering external and internal fraud, as well as money laundering. The company implements comprehensive IT projects to organize secure transactions in various sectors of the economy: from the financial sector to retail enterprises.

By joining Rostelecom, Fuzzy Lodge Labs has gained opportunities for further development and promotion in new markets. In particular, as specified by the first vice-president - financial director of Rostelecom Sergey Anokhin, the Fuzzy Logjik Labs team is planned to be strengthened by the necessary specialists and support in promotion. In general, the integration of the company, in accordance with the developed plan, should take just under six months.

According to representatives of Rostelecom, the provider consistently implements the strategy of a digital partner for business, the population and the state, launching and integrating new technological solutions in the digital environment. Thanks to the deal, Rostelecom will be able to develop advanced transaction security platforms. The acquisition of the Russian developer Fuzzy Lodge Labs allows us to supplement the range of digital products and services offered to corporate clients to ensure the security of business processes, primarily in the field of providing financial services and services using innovative technologies.

Purchase of Fuzzy Logic Labs by Rostelecom

On March 1, 2023, it became known about the sale of Fuzzy Logic Labs to Rostelecom. Financial and other terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

According to Interfax, citing data from the SPARK-Interfax information and analytical system, 100% of Fuzzy Logjik Labs LLC was acquired by two Rostelecom structures: 99.99% of the developer of IT solutions to counter fraudulent transactions was received by Vestelcom JSC, the remaining share - AMT JSC. The changes were registered on February 28, 2023. The sellers of Fuzzy Logic Labs were two individuals - Alexander Vologdin and Fedor Larionov (is the general director of the company).

Perhaps now Rostelecom will develop its own anti-fraud system

As reported on the Fuzzy Logic Labs website in early March 2023, the company is engaged in the development, implementation and technical support of software to counter fraudulent transactions in various customer service channels (Smart Fraud Detection anti-fraud system). The main activities of the company are countering external and internal fraud, as well as money laundering. The company implements comprehensive IT projects for organizations of different sectors of the economy: from the financial sector to retail enterprises.

At the beginning of 2023, Roskomnadzor launched a platform to combat telephone fraud and to block calls and SMS messages from replacement numbers called "Antifrod." By early March 2023, some operators, including Tele2, Rostelecom, have not yet participated in the project, but should soon organize links through Antifrod. It is possible that Rostelecom, having bought Fuzzy Logic Labs, will develop its anti-fraud system.[1]
