The modern name of PKU "GIAC" MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS Russia has been since 2011. The work of the GIAC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is designed to increase the effectiveness of the fight against crime and put modern technologies at the service of the state and society.

2011: Development of informatization on the basis of a unified system of information and analytical support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

Since 2011, the further development of the informatization process has been carried out on the basis of the concept of creating a unified system of information and analytical support for the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (ISOD). It is a set of automated information processing systems used in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, software and hardware complexes and software and hardware, as well as communication and data transmission systems necessary to ensure the official activities of the department. 2002: Creation of fingerprint data banks

In 2002, the concept of the development of the information and computing system MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS Russia for 2002-2006 was approved. In the same year, the Center began to create automated databases of fingerprint information at the federal and interregional levels, which was an important step in the integration of regional information systems into the All-Russian network.

And later, the program of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Creation of a unified information and telecommunications system of internal affairs bodies" identified vectors for further improvement of information support for the activities of internal affairs bodies.

1970: Establishment of an organization

The half-century history of PKU "GIAC" MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS Russia originates on the day of the signing of the order "On the Organization of the Main Information Center under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR" - November 9, 1970. The creation of the head office was a crucial stage in the development of the service, providing the basis for the development of its capacity. The active propagandist of computerization was the general designer of the Branch Automated Control System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, a participant in the Great Patriotic War and the first head of the GIC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, Major General of the Internal Service Pavel Myasoyedov. Gradually, integrated data banks were created, automation of various types of accounts was carried out, automated systems for processing statistical, operational-search and other information were introduced into practice.

The main areas of activity of the GIAC Ministry of Internal Affairs:

  • Centralized information support in accordance with the established procedure of units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, state authorities of the Russian Federation, local self-government bodies, competent bodies of other states with operational reference, operational, search, forensic, fingerprinting, statistical, archival information, information contained in information systems and data banks in the field of migration;

  • Formation and maintenance of centralized records, databases of operational reference, search, forensic, fingerprinting, statistical and other information;

  • The formation of archival funds, the recording, storage, examination of scientific and practical value, the scientific and technical processing of archival documents formed in the activities of the services of the central apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RSFSR, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation;

  • Provision of services in order to ensure the implementation of the powers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia stipulated by the legislation of the Russian Federation;

  • Ensuring the operation of a unified system of information and analytical support for the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia;

  • Provision of operation and technical support of information systems and data banks in the field of migration.
