2024: Russian Railways bought a stake in Air and Em Medical Center LLC from Japanese TGV Investment
The company RUSSIAN RAILWAY Medicine acquired a 74% stake in Air and Em Medical Center LLC from the Japanese TGV Investment Co., Ltd. Changes to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities were made on December 18, 2024.
According to Interfax, the remaining 26% of the shares belong to Russian Railways - Infrastructure Projects JSC, a subsidiary of Russian Railways. As a result of the transaction, the railway company became the sole owner of the medical center.
The joint venture was created by Russian Railways OJSC and the Japanese corporation Marubeni to implement the project of a medical center in Khabarovsk. The project was based on the reconstruction of one of the buildings of the RZD-Medicine Clinical Hospital in Khabarovsk, which began in 2020.
The total investment in the creation of a center for preventive medicine and diagnostics exceeded ₽1 billion. The health facility opened its doors to patients in September 2023.
According to the publication, in November 2024, the president Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree giving the Russian Railway the right to buy out the share of the Japanese company in the joint venture. This decision made it possible to complete the transaction to consolidate the assets of the medical center.
The Khabarovsk Center for Preventive Medicine and Diagnostics was created on the basis of the railway hospital, which is a structural unit of the Russian Railway. After buying back the Japanese stake, the company gained full control over the management of the medical facility.
The transaction to acquire the share of the Japanese partner completed the process of forming the ownership structure of the center, which began since its inception. The medical institution will continue to work under the management of the Russian Railway, providing services in the field of preventive medicine and diagnostics.[1]
