The Siberian-Ural Energy Company (SUENKO) is an interregional multidisciplinary energy company in the south of the Tyumen and Kurgan regions, part of the group of companies LLC STS Corporation. SUENKO is the largest investor in the electric power industry of the south of the Tyumen region and the entire Trans-Urals.

History

2025: Nationalization

At the end of November 2025, the Leninsky District Court Yekaterinburg transferred states ownership of the Siberian-Ural Energy Company (SUENKO), which provides electricity to consumers Tyumen Kurganskaya and regions. The decision was made on the claim. State Offices of Public Prosecutor RUSSIAN FEDERATION

The defendants were the former vice-governor of the Sverdlovsk region Oleg Chemezov and the director of the STS Corporation Tatyana Chernykh. SUENKO came under state control in the framework of the case of nationalization of the assets of Ural businessmen Artem Bikov and Alexei Bobrov, who were the beneficiaries of the STS Corporation. The case file said that the named structure monopolized the generation and supply of electricity, water supply and solid municipal waste management in the Kurgan, Sverdlovsk, Tyumen regions, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The Prosecutor General's Office stated that entrepreneurs received energy assets through informal ties with officials, including Anatoly Chubais.

Siberian-Ural Energy Company nationalized

As noted by Interfax, STS Corporation owns almost 100% of the authorized capital of SUENCO JSC. The latter, in turn, owns a number of communal assets, including an almost 75 percent stake in Oblkommunenergo JSC, one of the largest enterprises in the communal power of the Sverdlovsk Region. In addition, SUENCO owns 75% of Water Union JSC, the largest company in the Kurgan region in the field of water supply and sanitation.

In mid-September 2025, Chemezov became a defendant in the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office on the transfer to the state of companies and property related to the STS Corporation. The investigation believes that the former vice-governor of the Sverdlovsk region is associated with the privatization of the Oblkommunenergo company. According to RBC, Chemezov was charged under the article on large-scale fraud.[1]
